Definitely over blown. Only guy in the league that should be claiming to be a closer right now is Harden.
Lillard hatred just needs to stop. Lillard has been unconscious since the All Star Break. 31.1 PPG 49.5 FG% 43.2 3P% 90.9 FT% Plus we're winning....
So any combination of 8 POR wins or 8 MEM losses? I see MEM going 5-3 to close out (Pops will sit starters out against MEM and not us now!). Let's go 6-2!
I can seriously see us passing them right at the end, just like last year. Sure, it may not mean much for the playoff picture, but still....
Memphis is on a free fall, I don't know their remaining schedule, but it certainly looks possible, not highly unlikely we can move into 7th!!!!
After tonight's game against the Pacers who are battling for 7th/playoffs, they play a bunch of tank teams. Doesn't look too promising, but I'll keep my hopes up that they pull a huge choke....
Speaking of! Dame's ORtg and DRtg in the last... 15 games: 115.1 / 104.8 10 games: 115.9 / 100.0 5 games: 120.4 / 98.4
If they go 5-3 we have no shot to catch them. That puts them at 45-37. If the we go 8-0 we still finish one game behind them. Getting to the 7 spot will take a minor miracle at this point. But I'm all for giving it a shot.
The star always gets the most hate during down times. The hate speaks volumes (though his D still leaves room for noise). But damn, he's been good since the ASG.
Come on now, Harden doesn't have a reputation as a game winning shot maker. His only closing strength is at the FT line, you can't deny how good he is at drawing fouls. However he still doesn't shoot them at the percentage that Dame does. Dame has killed like half the teams in the league at this point. Lillard time is real, and only overblown by the most homeristic of homers who expect him to hit every shot down the stretch. Dame is clutch personified.
That's just not true. He is a good leader & exceptionally tough of mind - but is not a high percentage shooter in the clutch; the stats show. He's on a tear as of late - but his signature chucked 30 footer shot is still a terrible shot. Why anyone would think that a 37% 3 point shooter (has been way worse most of season) , pulling up from 30 foot, is an exceellent go to move, is incomprehensible.
I don't believe that you have to shoot a high percentage to be considered clutch Volume > Percentage Either that or this guy is the most clutch player in the history of the NBA/ABA.
