    I'll help out....

DON'T THINK! Just take the ball, and throw it into the hoop.

    Butters can help you.
He was meant to help you.

Danny Young, anyone remember him? He was our backup PG during the Drexler years. He was unexciting and the Blazers brought in PG after PG, but none could supplant him. Know why? Danny rarely did anything stupid on the court. We had shooters, dunkers, and post players, and Danny's job was simply to get them the ball. The coach trusted him implicitly. Butters is no Danny Young. He is in the wrong place at the wrong time on nearly every defensive possession. The coach (or anyone else) can't really trust him at all. Usually, when a player is hampered by an injury, they can rely on their smarts to make them effective. Butters can't.

I'll cheer for every swish3 Butters can make, but we are going to play the best offensive team in the history of the NBA, and it won't take them long to decode Butters' defensive shortcomings.

Been a Meyers supporter and I'm not even close to being optimistic now.
If it's that good please pass the pipe cause I'd love to get there!

Here's the thing: You actually have some basketball knowledge... but your first point in your way of making Meyers better is a positive nickname? I am so confused.

No. This is just noting what Jusuf has achieved and encouraging MyLe to continue the momentum. Can't you imagine MyLe running the same plays in the paint? If you offered the same kind of comments that show great confidence for Jusuf to MyLe, you can be rewarded with success. Jusuf is thriving on fan enthusiasm, and MyLe might also. Try looking at the possibilities and the future can look brighter.

Myle would have just as much success in the paint as Myle Cyrus.

If anyone can think up a memorable nickname for Meyers Leonard, it's Typhoid Jerry. I place my total confidence in him.

I coined MyLe years ago, for that very reason. If he ever starts playing like an NBA player, he can have a man's name back.

Before designing a nickname, I will need to know whether you spell it spas (the way I learned decades ago in junior high school, back when "uncoordinated" had a hyphen) or spaz (the new internet way).

Those middle schoolers were mean to me. And I was 39!

Meyers playing like Nurk is EXACTLY what's going to happen.

    Great call.

Because magically Meyers, after 5 years, is going to do that. And he's had 5 years of possibilities, and now we've got him for four years of futility. He is what he is. Okay. Occasionally remembers that he's on a basketball court and the orange thing is used to be productively put in the basket. But way more often than not, he's a (bubba gump shrimping boat size) net minus on just about everything.

My words, confident or pessimistic, aren't going to affect him on the court. Stop trying to think our words actually affect him on the court. He either has it, or he doesn't. And for about 80% of his minutes, he's a detriment to the team.

He is currently the worst starter in the league, I would even trade him for Randy Foye. He is so bad that words cannot really describe the situation. Probably the worst player to ever play the game and definitely the worst that got a 40M contract.
