Absolutely anyone who automatically thinks a private education is of better quality than a public school education is a moron. Sure, there are private schools that are a cut above, but so is their funding. I went to private schools for 12 years. I am fiercely loyal to those schools for the friends I met, but I cannot defend the quality of the education. Private schools are historically deficient in teaching math and science in particular. The teachers (with admitted exceptions) are those who were passed over by public schools because they were not the cream of their colleges. History is taught with a religious slant, which often skews the reality of what actually happened. What kids get out of private schools that help level the playing field and that public schools seldom provide is structure and discipline, two things that the government oversight has banished. I really struggled when I transferred my oldest son from private to public schools. But once I attended a parents night and saw the quality and quantity of resources and materials, all my apprehensions went straight out the window. Public schools were the better deal by far. @riverman is absolutely correct. At the end of the day, success is up to the student and his parents. My sons are prime examples. They both made their choices. One is a success, one.....not so much. One gets credit and the other gets blame. I certainly don't lay the blame on the government, as truly easy as that might be. But it would be wrong. If your child isn't getting what you expect out of his/her school, the very first place to look for responsibility is in the mirror......

I grew up in the most conservative county I've ever lived in buddy.......pledge of allegiance every morning before school, etc.....what I did with my education I take credit for.....My guess...you in fact are a divisionist........maybe the folks you hang with tolerate this false sense of superiority ....I find it condescending and not much else....maybe I'm suffering because my teachers convinced me the world is round....and sheeple that I am...I completely bought into it....good teachers encourage questioning the books and theories...
This is the issue with America at this very moment. This whole PC progressive bullshit. Trying to make everything diverse, silencing freedom of speech, and the ones screaming fascists are actually the ones acting like fascists. This goes alongside with lavars comments. If he were white a and said this about black teens, holy shit the media would of had his way with him, his son would of never made the NBA, etc. for people to ignore that is absurd. I have seen no outrage over his comments. Barely any. That's the culture we live in now. White "progressive" progressive apologists use blacks and gays as their puppets to virtue signal. When I see somebody like Damian lillard come from Oakland rise up and not only be a super good dude but one of the best pg's in the league, that's something to root for. However a majority of black communities out there have an issue and it isn't white people. White people are the crutch, the media continues to allow these specific black people to act like victims. Look at the statistics. Do your research. I have seen the numbers in Chicago, nobody gives a fuck about those black body's. Shits a war there. Like I said there are racists among every race but some blacks are so brainwash they really believe they themselves can't be racist because they don't hold power among the races and all this nonsense. This is the only group that plays this card continuously despite so much changing. Native Americans don't, Asians don't. But who is to blame for every black persons failure in today's America?! White men were instrumental in the creation of crack as a means to keep the black communities down. But some people on these forums will be like "what you mean those kind gentlemen who put people on ships and massacred the native Americans? How dare you insult my great great great grand pappy!" To the surprise of many of you she didn't turn her attention to harassing any white people around her.
