If they get swept by the Warriors, as you suggest, you then would be liking the direction of the team that won less games and one less playoff series than last year.

So with the addition of Nurk...are you saying you think the direction of the team is worse than it was last year....... just because we will win end up winning less games in the playoffs?

Great individual season? He willed his team to a nice record when his star sidekick bailed on him

Sounds familiar to what Lillard had to do last year, but for some reason when Lillard did it last year he was praised around here when WB does it it's looked at as a selfish individual season

    Weird

It will. They won't be afraid to face GS in playoffs because they've been there. If we win this series, last year's experience will be part of it.

Tell me about it. Lillard had to do the same thing last year when LMA bailed on us but when WB does it he's looked at as less worthy.

Lillard had CJ though. Westbrook has Oladipo.

I guess we'll know if Nurkic is able to play in the playoffs and if they are competitive at all with the Dubs.

Because playing the Warriors is the same as playing a Clippers team missing Chris Paul and Blake. Totally.

Also I don't give a fuck about our win total, because it would look a lot different had we had Nurkic the whole season

    Now, fuck off.

I would think next year is a better indicator of the direction of the team, than how competitive we are against one of the best line-ups in recent memory.
We are going to get killed against the Warriors......probably embarrassed. But IMO that won't mean we are worse off than we were last year. We will have Nurk and we will have 3 1st round picks. Seems like a better future to me.

Why will we get embarrassed? We have a backcourt that can hang with him. We have Aminu to guard Durant. And they have no answer for Nurkic. I think we can win this series.

I don't think Nurk will play and if he does he will need practice time with the team for everyone to be in sync. Plus the way GS was playing before Durant got hurt.......they were embarrassing most teams. Maybe Durant will be rusty...that is our best hope. GS with Durant .......was an awesome team

Blazers with Nurk was an awesome team. He played 20 games with us. He'll be mostly in sync and then rolling by the time the series moves to Portland.

My favorite Mutumbo moment was him rolling on the ground after the #8 Nuggets shocked the world and #1 Sonics.

I'd love to see The Big Nurk rolling on the ground with Portland upsetting GS. Is it likely? No! But with a full season of Nurk, we're not #8. We'd be facing GS in the second or third round. Let's dance. Now. And if we get smoked? A learning lesson for next late-April.

New hope springs eternal every year, but if they have Nurkic back healthy and productive and they still get blown out of the water in the playoffs this year, then that's still the benchmark team in the West to measure yourself against right?

So who knows how it's going to go since we don't know if Nurkic is actually even going to be able to play, but I think you can still learn something about the rest of the guys and how they are going to perform against what looks like a juggernaut on paper.
