I was just playing with that Imo Hurd is not bad. Ppl just need to give him time. And like I said before I think he's going to draw more of the new generation blazer fans. The kids who are in middle school, high school now. These years go by quick their going to remember Hurd and have a connection with him that will be more relatable to them as they get older. As I hit my 30s I'm starting to realize it's all about drawing the new generation and keeping them then eventually moving on and capturing new fans.. It's the way of life. Besides I follow the team idc about the announcers. Just speak English and give me good basketball
...isn't there a delay from radio and "live" TV though? I've never had much success getting this to work -- can't stand when one is ahead of the other (if only for a split second)!
That was me. I think Calabro said something about a hammer during the dunk, and it just clicked for me. Anyway, I find them acceptable, and certainly better than The Mikes. Much less whining about refs, off tangents, incorrect names. I'd rate them in the middle of the pack as far as League Pass announcers. But yeah, I like the idea of Brent Barry or Chris Webber (hey, I can dream).
Kevins grown on me as the year has gone along. I would still prefer Mike and Mike but Kevin has gotten better as the year has gone along, it feels like he actually cares about the Blazers instead of him just calling another national TV game. Hurd is very hit or miss for me, haven't liked him much overall. It gives me hope that next year I won't dislike listening to Kevin and Hurd at all.
I just want the Mike's to take over talkin' ball as soon as their contracts are up...they're still getting paid on their old contract I think...they'd be great as Jaynes replacements
I like both of them. I also like Brent Barry. Of course, seeing as how Hurd and Barry are both Beavs, it's unlikely I'd say anything different.
It's the dump button delay for cussing... the answer would be for radio to delay the call, I could swear they did that somewhere... but that would encourage people to mute the TV which the Blazers don't want.
Is soap not effective after the 2nd day? Not trying to be an asshole, I've just never heard that saying.
If you leave it in water I would imagine no. That was the comparison. Sorry I should have put the word.....used, somewhere in there.
I like Calabro and Hurd, I had no real time connection with Mike and Mike and I used to get frustrate during games when Rice could get players name right. Calabro has a great voice to listen to, isn't too biased (that might still come) and Hurd is interesting enough. There's obviously some resistance to change, which I get. But give it time, these guys will grow on us all.
I'm not sure he was considered. Calabro got to choose his running mate. He's McCain picking a Black Male Sarah Palin. Yes, Hurd is that bad to me.
Colabro might have been a good play by play radio guy, but it doesn't translate to TV as a color commetator. Neither him nor Hurd are bad...it's just sort of like watching a national tv broadcast. I miss Mike and Mike.
I'd like to see Barrett back and pair him up with Holton. Fans would go nuts if MB was back, TV ratings would go up. My beef with Colabro is that he does too much radio play by play on TV. We can see the game, we dont need to be told "Damian drives to the lane, dishes it off to CJ...". He doesnt give us the back ground info we want. Who's in the game (substitutions), stat streaks/trends, etc. I want better game info and good analysis.
