Can you imagine if Olshey leaves before the draft? Paul Allen with 3 first round draft picks? Any player that says they like Martell Webster is getting drafted.
Edy Tavares had a monster debut for the Cavaliers on Wednesday, racking up six points, 10 rebounds, one assist and six blocks in 24 minutes vs. Toronto. Neil, email me.
I don't watch SC anymore, and don't recall seeing this posted here. It just came up on my youtube recommended feed today. Says that Nurkic has "been a hand and glove fit"
At the time we acquired the CLE pick (January 6th), it would have been the 28th pick. CLE only trailed GSW and SAS in the standings at the time. At the time we acquired the MEM pick from DEN (February 13), it would have been the 22nd pick. So, both picks are guaranteed to move up at least two spots from where they were when we acquired them. The MEM pick could potentially move up 3 spots and the CLE pick could move up as many as 5 spots. BNM
So you're saying Neil is a genius ? Wait tho, wasn't CLE pick acquired January 6th of last year ? It was the Verejao thing right ?
No, we actually swapped their picks. I think we originally had their pick for 2018, so we swapped them for their 2017 pick.
This is correct. We originally acquired CLE's 2018 first round pick to take Varejao's contract off their books last year. On January of this year, we swapped the 2018 pick back to CLE for their 2017 first round pick. Due to the depth of this draft, it was viewed as a shrewd move at the time. Given how much CLE has fallen off, it's looking even better now. BNM
I wonder if Plumlee will even sign with Denver; they could end up with nothing from that trade. Their GM describes him as their third or fourth big. Plumlee strikes me as the kind of guy who would go to a situation where he could start if possible over wherever he could get the most money. 'Also, the plan is to sign center Mason Plumlee to a new contract. Plumlee came to the Nuggets in a trade deadline deal with Portland. “Mase brought a lot of what we thought he would bring – intensity, a vertical threat at the rim,” Connelly said. “An athletic big. A very good passer. It’s not an easy transition going from a starter to the third or fourth big. … When we traded for him, we traded for him for the purpose of bringing him back. Barring something unforeseen or some dramatic shift, we’re pretty excited to talk to his representatives this summer and figure something out.” '
He is an RFA, so if they want to keep him, they can. But they may not be happy with how much he'll command.
OK, i'm not paying enough attention today. But yes, if a team offered a lot of $ and a starting position, Denver might be in a bind.
Shrug, they would have lost the Beast to free agency a year later had they kept him. So, the real loss is the 1st rounder, and again, they have enough young guys, so not a disaster for them.
Porzingis skips meeting with Knicks management because he feels the organization is dysfunctional... Ouch, Knicks problems run deeper than Phil/Melo drama.
The real loss is they could have gotten more for him if they actually played and developed him properly instead of sticking him on the bench and letting him get disgruntled.
We would be happy to take Porzingis and Melo if they would take Meyers and Ezeli. I would even be willing to throw in a pick.
