That's an interesting scenario, I just don't know if I see the Clippers doing that with their new ownership. I think if Griffin bounces they rebuild, and I mean a real rebuild. Have Doc "resign", let Redick walk, trade CP3, and build a team around Jordan (which seems odd but he is a defensive beast) and try to lure PG in free agency.

It's not like disgruntled players ever come to Portland and become better........oh wait!

Melo...two things.....too old....too expensive....other than that he'd thrive playing next to Nurk in Stotts system...basketball would be fun again! There's still no way in hell he moves his wife to Portland....from what I've read she's New York high maintenance all the way......Dame's and CJ's moms are down to earth....Portland is paradise to them...to Melo's trophy wife....probably hell.

More interesting is Porzingas skipped a meeting with management and is burned out on dysfunctional Knicks operations...that's a guy you want next to Nurk

Turner, Leonard, ezeli, Memphis pick for Anthony.

We save roughly 2 million next year. They get a pick, a decent fit for the triangle in Turner, and Leonard.
    trot out
    Lillard
    McCollum
    Anthony
    Vonleh
    Nurkic

With crabbe, harkless, aminu, Davis our primary 4 off the bench.

yeah but the Melo talk ain't cheap either and I didn't think we'd even get a call about Nurk plus a number 1 pick for Mason...stranger things happen..Porzingas is a game changer who's the right age.

If he went to a team with a strong locker room I'm sure he'd get into better shape and be able to play the 3. If he wants to extend his career another 4-5 years he will need to lose weight. However in today's NBA he can play the 4.

I thought I read somewhere about him not wanting to play the 4, but that's even better.

    Lillard
    McCollum
    Harkless
    Anthony
    Nurkic

Crabbe, Aminu, Vonleh primary 3 off the bench.

    Lillard36/McCollum12
    McCollum24/Crabbe24
    Harkless30/Aminu18
    Anthony 34/Aminu12/Vonleh2
    Nurkick30/Vonleh18

Davis gets minutes at C when Anthony shifts to the 3 on occassion with Vonleh at the 4. Bring in a vet min replacement for Ezeli. Big body type C. Connaughton, Layman Napier play their closers roles.

I think Melo would prefer a city that he measures rather than a team that could need him. Syracuse is direct link to NYC

Yeah no shit, he isnt choosing to come to portland. If he waived his no trade clause and you dont have to give up dame/cj/nurk you do it for whatever it costs. Carmelo Anthony is still a top 20ish player in the NBA. We need him and he needs us dont let any of these grouchy old farts tell you any different.

Personally, if I was the GM we could equate two capable players for the equal sum of his salary and have the bonus of a working player if the other is injured.

not that I necessarily want Melo but IMO he'll be fairly cheap in terms of assets but nut salary, I believe he's owed 26.2 mil next yr and has a player option after that for 28 mil. I'm guessing Crabbe or Turner, perhaps Harkless and our pick or the Mem pick could easily get it done. Keep in mind he's 32 and on the decline. Might be able to get Oquinn thrown in for a cheap 4 mil per back up PF/C

Cant play two players at the same position at the same time. Carmelo is atleast 2.5x better than anyone on our roster not named dame/cj/nurk and to my memory he is not injured so idk what your point is really

Think about how well Vince Carter is still playing at his age. Carmelo was a better player when he was in his prime his decline will be slow he can still play at a starter level for at least the next 5 years

I think Phil/Knicks have misused Melo but he's contributed with being overweight, so the situation there is bad and other teams know it so IMO Knicks pretty much want to just get rid of the guy so if they can get a decent pick and a youngish player they's do it, and Turner would actually fit the triangle well. Again I do not think he'd come here but I do think we easily have the type of assets to get it done

Carmelo Anthony, Gentleman's Club Dancer Allegedly Pregnant Together

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is alleged to have impregnated a woman who works at a New York City gentleman's club.

According to TMZ Sports, the woman said she is six-and-a-half months pregnant with Melo's child, and she reportedly expects Melo to contribute financially.

TMZ reported Monday that Anthony and his wife of seven years, La La Vazquez, are amicably separated. They have a 10-year-old son together named Kiyan.

Per TMZ Sports, Anthony allegedly fathering a child with another woman contributed to the split, and there is "virtually zero chance" of reconciliation.

The news comes in the midst of a rocky time for Melo professionally as well, after Knicks president Phil Jackson said Friday that Anthony "would be better off somewhere else," according to ESPN.com's Ian Begley.

OK, I'd be willing to absorb Melo and his albatross contract, but only if the Knicks send us Porzingas as compensation.
