CJ gets 20 minimum now. His PER is astronomical because he gets to the line at a ridiculous rate. If that doesn't happen, his PER tanks. He's a worse shooter than CJ in every aspect, so you better be getting him for his defense, because his offense will suffer as a Blazer.

He has a very good midrange game, its not that he cannot shoot because you present it like he cannot shoot. And going to the line is an offensive ability. He is still one very gifted offensive guy, although CJ is bettet there. But i get him for his overall play which is really better. I think undoubtedly better, at least for non Blazers fans.

    And he costs less!

I also laugh at PER tanks! Talk about exaggeration!!

Anyone remember Walter Davis? Played for Phoenix, then Denver. He used to KILL us. Then we traded none other than Drazen Fucking Petrovic for him. And Walter Davis of course SUCKED as a Trail Blazer.

I'm going to crawl into a corner and cry now. :(

We used to run Henry Weinhards down around Saragosa. They was long horns...Or was it short horns...kind of medium sized horns??

But then Nurk sucked at Denver and we traded for him and he became a beast.

I really think situations play a much larger part in performance than actual skill set.

NBA players are all skilled or they wouldn't have made it. But if in the wrong situation, they will fail no matter how good of a skill set. Look at DMC in Sac. Fail.

Is that the one where the North Koreans bombed Pearl Harbor, or the one where the Germans blew up the Maine?

I know. And I doubt he would go anywhere without Doc.
But man a vet like him on our bench would be great in my opinion.

We have the youngest team in a league that is currently in transition as the last "generation" (30+ yo guys fade) we shouldn't be looking to be closer to that fading generation. The guys we need to look away from IMO are Crabbe and Leonard. This sounds goofy, but I actually would feel more confident with Pat in the game than Crabbe right now. Crabbe is more proven and has 2 seasons of doing so, but Pat does so many more things than Crabbe.

Personally I'm fine with these 6 guys, Dame, CJ, ET, Hark, Vonleh and Nurk. Everyone else is subject for upgrade.

    Dame for CJ?

    I'd make that trade.

That dude gets traded so often that if Olshey wanted him I'd think he would have had him already.

No, only if they were both on our team. That would take one of their salaries off our cap because they were traded.

Davis was 36 years old by the time he was a Blazer.

The guy was a remarkable shooter and scorer. Along with Westphal, those Phoenix teams had two guys who'd hit 50% of their field goals, which was rare for guards and forwards back then.
