It's between LeBron and Kawhi, and it's actually a difficult decision for me. Leonard is only 25. If you put him on our team that would make an insane nucleus with Dame/CJ/Kawhi/Nurk. But LeBron is LeBron..... so do you take a few years of LeBron or maybe 10 years of Kawhi?
Should be, but I struggled with it anyway. There's something about Kawhi's quiet excellence that appeals to me, as well as his superior 3-point shooting. But Lebron does everything else, and he's so physically imposing. However, we've also seen a younger version of Kawhi outplay a more physically imposing version of Lebron just 3 years ago. In a vacuum, if you want to start a team from scratch for one season, or one series, Lebron is the obvious choice. But in terms of "whom would you rather (hypothetically) add to the Blazers", I'd actually go with Kawhi. And then I'd convince him to wear #11 so all those Meyers fans' jerseys could be usable again.
I think Kawhi would accept his role on our team, no problem. I think it would be an easy transition. I'm not sure about LeBron.
LeBron and Wade are alphas, and they coexisted...... but they are also friends, so I'm not sure if that counts. I'm not sure if I would call Kyrie an alpha..... what do you think?
Giannis is a better rebounder, play maker, shot blocker, and is three years younger. Kawhi is the better shooter for now but they mostly even out when you consider TS%. Dude put up a 23/9/5/2/2 at age 22. If this is to win a single game now, I'm taking Lebron and it isn't close. But for any other question, it's Giannis all the way.
Understand that everything in this post is pure speculation: I never got the same vibe from Wade that I have from Dame. It didn't take too terribly long for Wade to step back and that Heat team to become unquestionably Lebron's squad. I don't know if Dame has it in him. Even when Dame tried to claim this was still Aldridge's team back in 2013-14, everyone knew that Dame was the lead dog. I think that's why even though CJ has become a more efficient scorer, Dame still seems reluctant to let him have the ball in clutch situations.
Do you buy a supercar with 80,000 miles or a high end production sports car with 20,000 miles if both are the same price?
