This is a lot like year after the Blazers beat Houston in the playoffs. Their next season was kind of a disappointment and the playoff series against the Grizzlies exposed a LOT of warts. The only difference is that in that series, CJ showed he could play (whereas this series showed only Damian and CJ could play. At least, half the series for CJ). Last year they had a much better season than we (mostly) thought they would and got to the 2nd round. Albeit, the Clippers were decimated by injuries, but it gave us false hope for this year and the team had a disappointing season and got thoroughly outplayed in the playoffs. Hopefully this summer they lose some of the dead weight, and instead of just getting unproven players in the process they trade for players who actually perform when called upon. No more disappearing acts from Crabbe, Harkless, Turner, Meyers and Aminu (1 game does not forgive the season and poor choices).
Meh players making a combined $45M. I got so much hate for blasting the Turner signing. $17M a year is rediculous. I also got so much hate the past year for wanting Stotts gone. Now its the popular opinion. Guess I'm too early with my hot takes
It's going to take awhile for the bad taste of this season to leave people's mouths but things can change pretty quick in this league. Look at the bounce back years Houston and Washington had this year. Coaching changes helped both of those teams, but I think an offseason with Nurk, the draft plus a timely trade two could be enough to tilt the trajectory of this team pretty significantly.
