I'm not one of the one game knee jerk reactions. Every aspect of a team is also not going to be perfect. I wouldn't be talking about Chase Headley, Gardner or Ellsbury when Bird has had about as brutal an April as one can have at the plate.

Of course; and Bird's not exempt from fan castration, while on cashmans keep list ???

I'm not seeing a 'one game knee jerk reaction', since this is not the first, 2nd or 3rd rodeo for the underlined; and several others..

no fan in their right mind expects perfection. I've never heard of the perfect player or team, tho' legends are often flawed.

Joe's platooning Bird to help build his confidence, but why? Mgr's baby ball players, instead of enabling them the opportunities, to attempt to break out of one dimensional hitting. Labrum tears always lead to repetitive labral tear repairs; including shoulder instability, leading to early onset arthritis at the age of 30, give or take 2 yrs.

Why baby a struggling player for to long? Platoon players are too often one dimensional. A future with platoon players, is rarely a long term solution, imo.... The Yanx have nothing to lose this year. Hanging on to anyone whose already paid, with the teams record is a no brainer, as bad as some players stink up the field. This team of over achievers, still can do better...

THIS ^^^Headley, Gardner, and Ellsbury have been underachieving/sucking for a long time, and we've been dogging them for a long time, not just for one game.

Actually I did not mention Bird because if he continues on his current track the Yankees can send him down, easy fix but I'd also guess that they are looking to see when Tyler Austin is do back. Bird is a marvel mystery at this time, really pulling for that guy, great spring training but it went to Rio when the season started.

The point I was making is this is the current roster. Ellsbury and Headley have played well so you go with it. Gardner obviously hasn't hit so you have Hicks you can get ABs. Torreyes can get ABs and time at third as well. Get Sanchez back in there and Bird has to start hitting. They're pretty much all in with him as their first baseman for now and the future. They're playing well and better than people thought up to this point.

Thank you all, can't help think how good this team really is even though they didn't pull through with a victory yesterday. The fact that they scored 26 runs in the prior 2 with an 8 run comeback, WOW, thats really exciting to see.. but, back to the point as i getting at, normally teams after scoring that many runs usually have a hard time finding a way to get 1 in the next. The good guys got 4, and to come back again, what a show they put on for their loyal fans. Go yanks!
