...not sure how many of you have seen this or not...but I think it's pretty cool; http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=1-19440397
I have mixed emotions about it...don't get me wrong I am on the All Rise bandwagon, I even bought a All Rise shirt lol... but..1. does it put additional un-needed spotlight on him? 2. The Yankees are known for being the Yankees, no names on the back, all about the pinstripes....
^^^the difference in Judge this year vs last year is his approach and he's not striking out nearly as often...and since opposing pitchers are pitching him away, Judge has kearn to go with the pitch...I think at least 1/2 of his HRs have been to the opposite field. ...he's also become more willing to lay off pitches out of the strike zone and subsequently, both his BA and OBP have improved greatly...as long as he continues along this same path I think he'll be OK.
the franchise desperately needs a new face after Jeter as well as a legit bopper after the Aroid stain. Otherwise I agree TEAM before INDIVIDUAL, but in this case the FANS and ORGANIZATION need this kid and so honoring him is the right thing to do.
I've see several interviews featuring Judge, Sanchez, and other young Yankee Players. They all appear to be level headed, team oriented, men who are aware of the tradition of the Yankee Franchise. Following the '16 late season trades and the departure of the Franchise Filth we now have players we can cheer for at MLB Level, with the farm being stocked. The coolest thing in Baseball Fan Participation is the Yankees Roll Call and the Judges Chambers add fan highlights and participation through the game. A step in the right direction glad it has happened.
...^^^Tote, the odd thing is that coming into this year we were all looking forward to see Sanchez continue last year's success and though Gary has played respectably, the emergence of Aaron Judge has pretty much made "The Sanchise" an after thought.
only an after thought because he got injured ...i believe Sanchez will be the better player by year end, either way...its a good thing for the Yankees...youth brings so much energy back into the stadium..cant wait to go to the June 24th game..found first row seats along third base line
The race for New York is on. At least for this season so far. Judge .315 15hrs 30 RBIs Conforto .341 13hrs 32 RBIs
...yeah, I took Sanchez's injury into consideration but Judge has been stellar all season, and at this point he's clearly the MVP of the Yanx...but yeah, if Sanchez ends up having the better year it will bode well for the Yanx.
Sanchez is exciting to watch behind the plate, with his cannon arm. Reminds me so much of a young Johnny Bench, with his glove (almost, in time he will be as good a backstop), with his incredibly strong and accurate arm, and with his bat..... good things will come with this team in time, provided Trashman doesn't fk it all up, as usual....!
Funny how that happened, lol. Looking forward to having not 2 but 4 kids to hype because we need another Core4.
