Corruption at its highest level. Politicians, billionaires always pulling this kinda shit

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/danale...charity-money-into-his-business/#57b1e7036b4a

"Additionally, the Donald J. Trump Foundation, which has come under previous scrutiny for self-dealing and advancing the interests of its namesake rather than those of charity, apparently used the Eric Trump Foundation to funnel $100,000 in donations into revenue for the Trump Organization. And while donors to the Eric Trump Foundation were told their money was going to help sick kids, more than $500,000 was re-donated to other charities, many of which were connected to Trump family members or interests, including at least four groups that subsequently paid to hold golf tournaments at Trump courses."

There's a reason super rich people are super rich. Their brains don't work the same as the rest of us pee-ons. Their brains are busy computing numbers and thinking ten steps ahead to sniff out the next dollar, while the rest of us are trying to help our sick grandma, etc. Many of them are sociopaths. Ive done private contracting jobs for quite a few wealthy people and 90% of them are like penny-pinching aliens from the planet cheapskate. Trying to get extras for nothing. Meanwhile the working class clients are making you lunch and getting their hands dirty trying to help you out.

Jonnyboy I have to agree. It's one thing to have a high skill, maybe a rare skill (like being able to play in the NBA) that can earn tons of money. Or spend years and years studying to become a highly paid surgeon. It's quite another to just exploit. Interesting how the article details that at first the money was going to the sick kids, but Trump basically said let's make a pile of dough out of it, charging way above market rates for events held on their property.

Yeah having a skill is alot different. But when your only skill is making and saving money, that is where you find the cut throat behavior. I should have pointed out in my original post that the other 10% of wealthy folks ive worked for are genuinely awesome people. And there isn't really an income bracket where the assholes reside. There are moderately well-off assholes and legimimately rich people who are awesome. I think it has to do with how you make your money. Good point cran.

I haven't decided if this is the tipping point on the scale of evil. I think so many of these charities are scams anyway.

There are very worthwhile charities, bodyman, and there are places you can look that rate them. Helping others is good. Humans are gregarious and empathetic by nature and want to help others; it is particularly disgusting when those positive traits are exploited by people like the Trumps.

I mean, jonnyboy, I have never understood the mindset of the super-rich. I acknowledge, there are some exceptions, those who believe that privilege carries responsibility, but so many, all they want is more and more and more tax cuts for themselves and law changes to make themselves richer. I mean, what is it you can do with $10 billion that you can't do with "only" $2 billion? Does someone with $2 billion need a multi-million dollar tax break so that he/she can eventually have $3 billion, at the expense of the rest of the planet?

I guess that's why I'm not rich. Just don't have the mindset.

No worries......Denny will eventually "rightsplain" it all away as fake news from butt hurt Hillary lovers.....or some other such nonsense. Somehow or another it will be dismissed just another attempt by those who "aren't even people" to undermine Great and Wonderful Oz......

I donated my old car to a VFW chapter in Logandale this year. I asked all my vet neighbors and they didn't know who to trust. I talked to the VFW people at the county fair and they had a vet that needed a car and people to donate the time to install the cheap parts it needed.

It wasn't worth my time to fix it up and sell it so that's what I did.

I have little use for a charity run by some asshole making 400 grand a year. No way.

@Denny Crane @MarAzul have viewed this but didn't comment, likely because nobody can spin this in a positive way.

    Was it an opinion piece?

See, the problem is that Trump looks like a total piece of crap in this story just based on the information in it.

But first you get little jabs about Trump tackiness and Hooters girls and some housewife felon blah blah blah.

I can't even watch the morning news without getting commentary about what a POS Trump is but it is in EVERY story no matter what the story.

It's just irritating that I can't even read a piece where the facts seem to be obvious without having to feel like I'm watching Bill Maher. Does everything have to be TMZ to compete?

    From the article:

The real star of the day is Eric Trump, the president's second son and now the co-head of the Trump Organization, who has hosted this event for ten years on behalf of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. He's done a ton of good: To date, he's directed more than $11 million there, the vast majority of it via this annual golf event. He has also helped raise another $5 million through events with other organizations.

But no Trump can do anything good. It must be spun into something impeachable!

Cherry pick much? It's a very long article. There's more to gleam than just that. Kind of pathetic of you, actually. I guess you're cool with Trump siphoning money away from children cancer charities into his own wallet. You're a real piece of work, dude.

Also, I don't see anyone calling for impeachment over these disgusting acts of greed. But they are certainly the acts of a morally corrupt prick of a human being, at best. That's your boy. Enjoy it. Says a lot about you.

    Duh!

Then it has little non necessary jabs in it for no reason. I thought Trump's Mar a lago room with the Spanish tile was tacky as shit.

In a "news" article your opinion is not needed.

As I said the facts were damning enough.

The rest is cherry picking, and whether getting $15M in donations to charity to fund children's cancer research/treatment is somehow taking money away from those kids. Spin much?

You might want to compare how well this charity works compared to others. It seems from the reporting that it's considerably more efficient and effective.

You missed my point completely in my post as well as the 5 million times Denny says he doesn't like Trump.

It's every thread, Denny says he agrees with something Trump did and everyone calls him a Trump lover.

Denny says he'd open the borders to everyone on Earth and thinks Trump's an asshole for his immigration stance but all of you act like he just Parrots whatever Trump says.

    Some of you seem delusional.
