Almost entirely wrong. "Meetings with senior Russian intelligence officials." - "Almost entirely wrong." -- Comey "Many many stories, specifically about Russia, are just dead wrong." -- Comey http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/mccarthy-says-communists-are-in-state-department Speaking before the Ohio County Women’s Republican Club in Wheeling, West Virginia, Senator McCarthy waved before his audience a piece of paper. According to the only published newspaper account of the speech, McCarthy said that, “I have here in my hand a list of 205 [State Department employees] that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping the policy of the State Department.” In the next few weeks, the number fluctuated wildly, with McCarthy stating at various times that there were 57, or 81, or 10 communists in the Department of State. In fact, McCarthy never produced any solid evidence that there was even one communist in the State Department. Despite McCarthy’s inconsistency, his refusal to provide any of the names of the “known communists,” and his inability to produce any coherent or reasonable evidence, his charges struck a chord with the American people. The months leading up to his February speech had been trying ones for America’s Cold War policies. China had fallen to a communist revolution. The Soviets had detonated an atomic device. McCarthy’s wild charges provided a ready explanation for these foreign policy disasters: communist subversives were working within the very bowels of the American government.
He just glazed over the whole "specifically about Russia" part. Multiple sources confirm Barfo has been cheating on his wife for years...... Wait, the director of the FBI said that was all fake? Well, Barfo did admit to going to lunch with a girl he went to school with years ago. GET HIM!!!!
There aren't 500 regular posters in this forum. Ignoring anyone with an honest opinion is really lame. If you don't agree with it explain why. You just posted about the left and the right getting along and I called it kum bah ya. Ignoring someone is a passive aggressive act that just makes you look bad. I still subject myself to twitterbird's constant stream of bile. Every so often I agree with something in one of them. Hell, I might even learn something new. I've only put one person on ignore for a few days because I was tired of seeing bananas every time he posted.
Good to know that the right wing blogosphere is experimenting with "Dems = McCarthy!" memes. Thanks to our reliable mouthpiece here, the rest of us don't have to go there.
I have no problem with honest opinions ....I have a problem when those opinions are contentious and when people talk at me instead of at the subject...I rarely use the ignore button but I also love to mute the noise out there. Just because some asshole in a pub is baiting a person doesn't mean that person has to sit next to them or pay attention to their bs. Kumbaya some of that shit! I enjoy when you talk about cars...
I'm fine with the idea that every single press report about Russia/Trump has been entirely incorrect, if that's how you want to interpret Comey's testimony. However: we know for a fact that multiple Trump people have met with Russians, because they have admitted doing so (sometimes under oath). So it isn't the case that the Trump campaign had nothing to do with Russians. They clearly did. What exactly the nature of those meetings were is yet unknown. barfo
Odd how that McCarthy thing fits so well. I'm waiting for some reporter with honor to ask, "have you no shame?" to the rest of the sorry lot.

Your "mainstream" media has lost so much credibility that nobody will know unless congress does something.
If you ignore me you'd miss that. I enjoy when you talk about traveling the world and I get a different perspective from that. When someone here posts tweet after tweet from an actor who played a security guard in a recent Ice Cube movie I see the beauty of the ignore feature, don't think I don't understand. Then again, I get a lot of laughs reading then even though that isn't the intent of his posts.
Glad to see you equate McCarthyism with Trumpism. That's probably the most accurate thing you've ever posted. And we all know how it ended for McCarthy. He had his flight of fancy (fantasy is more like it) before the wings came off and he crashed hard. And that same thing is going to happen to Donny. Whistle past the graveyard all you want, you can't stop the inevitable....
Huh?????? Trump's claims of Comey tapes, his claim that Obama wire tapped him, his lies about inauguration crowds, etc, etc, etc, are all on at least the same level as McCarthy's bogus (and wishful) enemies list. Nothing that comes out of Donny's mouth is believable. He is McCarthy s identical ideological twin. And that will eventually catch up with him and bring him down.
I equate McCarthyism with accusing government officials of Russian influence without any proof. And how it was eventually exposed. It's eerily the same movie we've seen before.
Oh, horseshit. People were sent to jail, and many more lost their jobs due to McCarthyism. Nothing like that is happening here, unless you want to count Flynn getting fired, and if so, you have to blame Trump, not the press. barfo
