What are you talking about? Stats are just a tool to backup the eyes that see similarities in their games. No one is basing anything off of them. At least I'm not.

Yes. Jonah Boldan, Tyler Lydon, and DJ Wilson have sleeper potential. Swanigan does not.

I read it. I don't agree with it. Not going further into it. It's exhausting.

Swanigans range won't translate because he shoots flat and has a compact, somewhat tense shot pocket that will become strained at NBA 3pt distances.

It was 6 sentences. Didn't know you would have trouble with that.

Kennard is more like Redick than Swanigan is like Love.

Caleb Swanigan... you mean the big man who doesn't really fit today's game? If size alone got you anywhere then Sim Buhlar would have stayed in the league.

Apparently playing bully ball against weak college defenders means you're supremely skilled and a likely all-star.

This draft has about 65 future all-stars.

Realistically I think 5 years from now 3 will be all-stars, 10 years from now 5-6 will be all-stars. There will be many fringe all-stars who won't make it due to depth of talent around the league.

There is a large range between a bust and all-star. Although Swanigan has stat similarity and comparisons to some NBA all-stars, he also has similarities and comparisons to many busts. My guess is that he ends up somewhere in between. I think he's undervalued as a projected second round pick. Certainly worthy of the risk.

There are no absolutes when trying to predict NBA success. The fun is trying to find that diamond in the rough.

I think several of you guys are being overly combative tools about the draft. The reality is our opinions simply are irrelevant because they won't change the outcome of the draft or how a college player will translate to the NBA... in other words it doesn't matter if our opinion is right. Having discussion is fun, watching head strong posters argue the same point back and forth for pages is irritating and non-productive.

Furthermore the love for late 1st round and 2nd round players is truly out of control this year. Top 5 busts are more common than 2nd round big successes. There is a large body of evidence called the draft history to call from in all regards. It proves that top college talent doesn't always translate to the NBA, in fact it's very rare that the best college player goes on to be elite an Elite NBA player. Look at the last 10 PAC 12 players of the year.

James Harden, Jerome Randle, Derrick Williams, Jorge Gutierrez, Allen Crabbe, Nick Johnson, Joseph Young, Josef Pöltl and Dillon Brooks.... Not exactly a star studded lineup. Stats don't reliably translate either, remember Adam Morrison... Harold Minor? On the flip side Westbrook being the 3rd leading scorer on his college team? A 6'6" guy can lead his team in rebounding in college but won't in the NBA.

Intangibles are the most important part of scouting college prospects especially since most these guys haven't grown into their bodies yet. So body type/size, mobility, coordination, hands, basic instincts those are the things scouts are looking at.

I'm just being combative because he's been combative with others lately. Not gonna spend the energy to make my posts nice if the other person doesn't either.

As far as the other part of the post, well said.

See that's where you and I differ. I've never seen being nice as something that takes significant effort.
