    Love makes sense only if......

    1. We are loaded with perimeter defenders

    2. His relationship with Klay Thompson makes Portland a destination for him once he leaves GS, or a spot he would re-sign if traded here.

Yeah he is not the best perimeter defender for a PF. It is tough to find someone like Green who can do both........ battle down low and cover the perimeter. I think we would be more than just fine with Vonleh at PF if we had an explosive scorer like Paul George at SF. But Harkless and Noah doesn't quite cut it together. One of them needs to be really good on offense.

Some people are saying to trade the three picks, Crabbe, and Leonard for a one-year rental of PG13. Go "all in" to challenge the Warriors and hope that George likes what he sees here in Portland and re-signs.

I can't say I disagree. I am tired of "rebuilding". I want the team to really compete. To have a chance.

Even with George, would we be good enough to beat GSW?

This. The real reason why the Cavs lost is because you can't have Love and Korver on the floor at the same time. I saw many possessions where Love ended up on Curry and Korver on Durant.

    Bottom line:

We need Defense, not offense. Getting PG gets us both.

I think so. They have NO one for Nurk.

If we somehow get PG, Luc Richard Mbah A Moute is the guy I'd target with the TPMLE.

If this was any other sport, I'd agree with you, but the NBA is just..... shady. I don't feel that way about any other pro league.

Well, in that case, let Cleveland give more in this deal, and Portland less.

A very good sharp-shooter who played in the 1980's until back injuries made him prematurely retire. Traded by the PTB to the Nuggets in 1984 for Lafayette Lever, Calvin Natt and Wayne Cooper plus picks. A trade that didn't work out well because of injuries to Sam Bowie.

I still think Crowder is who we should be after.

For what? Is he better than harkless? Harkless is 3 years younger, and his stats are pretty comparable

He's a much of a better defense, shooter and scorer than Harkless, and only makes $6M a year.

Portland matches up pretty well with GS. If (BIG IF) Dame and CJ can really make a commitment to up their defensive game, and Nurk can stay healthy, with a all-star level PG13, they would have better than a puncher's chance in a 7 game series with the Warriors. Harkless would have to play huge against Draymond.

We gave them the third or fourth toughest game of the playoffs in Game 3 with full team. Aside from that one, the only tougher ones they had were their heavy loss to Cavaliers last Friday, the game in which they beat Cavs in the final 2 minutes by going 11-0 and that Spurs game where they had to injure Kawhi to get a win.

And Nurk was not 100% in that game and only scored 3 points in 16 minutes.

Paul George is a difference maker because he is a 2-way player (4 time all defense) who can do a credible job guarding Durant and LeBron while getting you 25 ppg on the other end. He would instantly improve our perimeter defense immensely and would give us 4 solid weapons on offense. You can't double Dame and C.J., or Nurk in the low post, when you have Paul George on the floor. He would make us so much better at both ends of the floor.

I've been saying it since before the start of the season, we need to add solid, 2-way, starting caliber players at the forward positions if we hope to compete. Paul George is beyond solid, he's one of the best 2-way players in the game.

Love to POR only makes sense if we also add Paul George, which stupid radio guys' trade scenario prevents from happening.

    So, no thanks to that.

Actually he was traded by the Nuggets to the Trail Blazers for those 3 players and picks. It was disaster because Lever and Natt were studs. (and Cooper was good as well) Kiki would have been great off the bench behind Jerome but his ego couldn't handle it. But regardless his back gave out like you said.
