Now here's the twist to this story that catches my attention:

What would the deal need to be for a 3-teamer sending 'Melo to Cleveland and Love to Portland to make sense for all teams involved?

Please explain this notion. Simply saying it doesn't make it true.

You know that would require one or two of our first-round picks as well, though. Does that sour you on the idea?

For one thing, and this is strictly opinion, I believe his ego couldn't handle being third fiddle to an already established core. To me, that smells like trouble from the jump. Also, he isn't a proven winner and a ball hog. He will suck the positive energy out of this team faster than Nurkic put it in

What's worse than Melo to Portland? Kevin Love to Portland. Sure these guys are an upgrade to what we have (offensively) but they are nothing like a long term answer, especially considering their defense, cost, and age.

    Paul George. That's the answer.

He is. Unfortunately, the question is, "Who will Kevin Pritchard never, ever trade to Portland?"

He'd trade with us if it's the best offer. He still has a job to do y'know? :dunno:

Well you know what they say about opinions...

I don't necessarily disagree with you on some of this - trading for Carmelo would definitely be a gamble. As I attempted to illustrate in previous posts, I'm not sure that he'd make our team better despite being an offensive upgrade over Vonleh. The only way I'm interested in this gamble is if we're able to shed Tuner AND/OR Crabbe, plus at least one of (but preferably both) Meyers/Aminu and only include ONE pick. Failing that, I'm not interested.

But I'm curious how you define "proven winner". He won an NCAA championship and a gold medal in the Olympics. If he's not a proven winner, then our roster is full of losers.

I guess thats how you use that word. Anyways...

Ok so take my 'speculation' about him wanting to be the man out of the equation. Still a ball hog. Still not a proven winner. Still a bad attitude. Sure, bring him on.

    PG13 isn't a proven winner either.

    So what I meant was...
He has been out of the first round twice. In 13 years. At the pro level, his success is mediocre at best. If I bring in a vet, I want more playoff experience than what we already have.
