After that there is probably another tier through 12 or so, but the difference between Marrkenen or Z Collins and J Collins or Jackson around 15 isn't worth giving up an asset for, IMO.

 

Don't see the Issac hype either. He seems like a worse Brandon Ingram. College stats were pretty underwhelming and the video I've seen of him shows his shaky handle and timid game.

Kinda reminds me of Moe coincidentally. That's not a top 6 pick in this loaded draft.

 

Video that I saw showed great handle for a guy his size.

I pretty much agree with this assessment. Although depending on a team's needs you could stretch the top 6 to around 10. I mean is Fox really better than Dennis Smith? Monk, next to the right PG could turn out to be the best scorer in the draft. Who really knows about Markkanen, but again the right situation he could turn out to be very good.

On the flip side, as much upside Fultz has, I wonder about his competitive nature. I did not see it at Washington. Yes I know his team sucked, but I also saw them play harder when he was out.

 

Let Orlando pick him then pluck him away for pennies next year.

 

Hezjona is high on my list for this summer.

 

Jonah Bolden Is a Lottery Talent Hiding in the Second Round

“I think defensive versatility is a strength of mine,” Bolden said. “I want to become a player who can guard all five positions.”

One of the most common criticisms about Bolden in scouting circles is that he isn’t as tough as he needs to be to survive in the paint in the NBA. He will need to continue getting stronger, but his frame has noticeably filled out since his days at UCLA, and it’s not like he’s going to play all that much in the paint at the next level anyway. The ironic part about Bolden’s decision to go overseas is that he wanted to play more as a small forward in order to showcase his perimeter game, but there’s no longer much of a line between 3 and 4 in the NBA. The nature of the 4 position is changing rapidly, with players like Harrison Barnes and Al-Farouq Aminu making the switch in recent years. Bolden is ideally equipped to switch screens and guard out on the perimeter while still being able to hold his own on the glass and bang in the post, which have become essential tools for a modern player at the 3, 4, or 5. In contrast to guys like Jahlil Okafor, who were born 15 years too late to be great in the NBA, Bolden has come to the league at the perfect time for a player with his skill set to succeed.

There are only two players in this draft other than Bolden who shot more than 40 percent from 3 while still averaging at least one block and one steal per game. One is Markelle Fultz, the likely no. 1 overall pick, and the other is Derrick White, a senior guard from Colorado who may end up being taken in the first round.​

 

This is a good draft to have some second round picks. Him, Semi, Swanigan, Ansejs, Dozier, White, Oliver, etc all are guys I'd like to have a chance to pick. Wonder if we can trade our 26 down to to the 35-40 range + some future pick as well.

 

That's interesting; I also thought about him being like Mo when I watched that video. Doesn't have any kind of edge to him. BTW, Isaac only working out for top 4 teams.

This is one guy I would like to see the Blazers give a psychological test to; if it shows he has some mental toughness and drive, then I'm all in.

 

Lots of people are sleeping on Dennis Smith. He reminds me a lot of Baron Davis.

 

Is it weird that there have been no workouts for Blazers the past 3 days???

 

I read somewhere that Smith might fall on draft day. Don't know what that means, but I'd give up 15/20 for him.

You see him as the third guard in a rotation? If he is BPA then okay, but I really would prefer to use our high picks on anything other than another short guard.

 

If we're in the market for a third guard, I think we go after Donovan Mitchell in that Marcus Smart mold. We even brought him in for a workout fwiw.
