In addition to the illegal drugs, Fisher was also taking Prozac, Abilify and Lamictal under prescription. She was also taking oxycodone without a prescription.
I don't understand why people still try drugs like heroine and cocaine when it's so obvious how addictive those drugs are. My sister smokes. It makes no sense to me. We watched both my parents struggle with smoking when we were kids. My dad almost died from lung cancer about 7 years ago. I have no idea why my sister even started smoking in the first place. It's just downright stupid.
If she was taking abilify, that's a pretty serious drug. My brother in law takes abilify and he's schizophrenic. He has terrible issues with drugs like meth. She might have been self-medicating all those years.
I volunteered to council returning vets with heroin addiction the last few months in the service before my discharge...took them to play hoops, body surfing, all kinds of healthy activities to get them back into loving life again.....a very small percentage of them cleaned up...lost a lot of friends to that crap throughout life..it's a death dance....heroin makes people numb to all their problems...then becomes their problem.
Carrie Fisher was a lifelong junkie....she admitted it and probably went out the way she wanted to in the end...
Will always expect the work she did for b-polar sufferers. But I understand the "ahh fuck it" mindset, and it is.....
