That'd be awesome! NY media and fans would destroy him. He'd need counseling.

I doubt the Spurs will get what they want for him. Other GM's have gotta be thinking "If the Spurs are already lookin' to get rid of him, there must be a very good reason why, so why would I want him?"

Yep. When was the last time a guy got better by leaving the Spurs? Every GM in the league has to be asking themselves, "If that's what Popovich got out of him, how much can my coach get out of him?"

According to Stephen A. Smith, LaMarcus Aldridge is "very, very unhappy in San Antonio right now. He feels the Spurs have compromised him, his productivity. They have hurt his game. As a result, he wants out and he wants out in the worst way. He wants to be gone."

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to trade Aldridge ahead of the draft.

Aldridge signed a four-year, $80 million contract with the Spurs in 2015 and he has a player option for the 18-19 season.

Damn. He absolutely tanked what value he had if there's any truth to this. It's Steven A Smith, so who knows....but bad mouthing the Spurs is just one of those things that does not help your career. Anybody trading for him is going to plan on him being a basket case. No way I'd give up a top 10 pick for that kind of headache.

The one guy I can see him coexisting with and actually succeeding is LeBron. If Cleveland deals Love, you could see LaMarcus filling in the same role but playing better defense.

I wonder if Cuban is considering picking him up at fire sale prices? Cuban has always been one to go for expensive, past their prime, former all stars. I wonder of Aldridge wants out of SAS badly enough to agree to play center next to 100 year old Dirk. DAL is, after all, home for him.

Hmmm. I can sort of see that working. I mean, not working well enough for them to do better than the 7th seed, but I can see Cuban going for it.

Well, of course, the last thing we want to see is Aldridge succeed. I was thinking about a Love for Aldridge swap last night. Only in my scenario, CLE gets even worse, doesn't make it back to the finals (ending LeBron's streak of finals appearances) and Aldridge is the scape goat.

Well.....I guess Stotts made Lamarcus look pretty good back in the day...now he's being overshadowed by David Lee

Yeah, but as a Blazers fan I'm sort of resigning myself to the inevitable success of that bastard and also us not getting Paul George. In my worst case scenario George goes to Cleveland for Love and they trade maybe Frye/Schumpert for Aldridge.

That'd be a pretty badass team. I absolutely hate LMA, but I couldn't help myself but really enjoy seeing what LeBron could do with it.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I'd love to see that. Aldridge really isn't particularly useful without the ball in his hands and good luck with getting to work with the ball when you play with James and Irving. His defense has also grown...ponderous. It probably isn't any better than Love's these days but Love at least provides more spacing on offense. Next year, we'll be hearing that Aldridge feels his talents aren't being properly utilized in Cleveland and he just needs a new environment.

I don't see many teams needing an overpriced, soft PF in the top 10. All those teams would make a deal with the Knicks for KP if they were looking to pull off a blockbuster for a better PF at fraction of the salary. Sactown at 10 seems like the only plausible deal. Please make it happen Kings!
