There's absolutely nothing wrong with what he did.

This really is a non argument. Black folk can use the word. White folk can't. The minute y'all accept this, we won't have to talk about it anymore.

Agree to disagree. Overblown? Yes. Dumb and immature? Absolutely.

Considering a sizable white, redneck audience... Why do people not understand why some folks get comfortable with the word or even use it?

But for real.... For someone who tells people they didn't answer your question.... You didn't answer mine.

I accept it. I don't use the word. Please don't lump me in that group. But you leapt right to it being LaMelo talking about his pops. I didn't make that leap. Those white folks that did..... Are they racist?

What? I didn't say he was talking about his father. You did. I said he was talking about the wrestler. And if he said to one wrestler "beat that n****s ass". I could really care less.

Your words. From this, it seems very clear that you believe LaMelo is telling the wrestler to beat his dad's ass. Since there was only one "wrestler" in the ring?

Jesus... It's our word. We took the negative version and turned it on it's head. Not sure why people get up in arms when we use it.

    Just don't say either.... :dunno:

Um no... I didn't really read the story. I assumed he was telling one wrestler to beat the other wrestler's ass. :dunno:

I literally was trying to have an intelligent conversation. It was partially built off one we had about the Ball family.

People preach here, "educate yourself", "learn", "understand". People also have to be willing teachers.

I mean, if you don't know what I'm talking about, just say so. It's no disrespect intended.

I just now realized this. I said so when I realized it. I saw the story, looked at the pic, heard the quote, and assumed two wrestlers were wrestling and he said it to one of them. I guess I'll look further into the story...

OK, just read the story and it's still stupid. So he told his dad to "whoop his ass" wrestler style. You ever been to a WWE? There are WAAAAAAY more offensive things said.

This wasn't even offensive. Nor should it be taken as such. This really is kinda stupid that they would have to release a statement about it at all IMO.

I've thought the same thing. It turns out being loud, obnoxious and outrageous can pay pretty well these days. Hell he might be the next President.

Lavar seems like an exaggerated racial stereotype that found a time machine in the mid-1990s and traveled to the present. I mean he's entertaining to look at, but not really in an "empowering" way.

I watch the Ball's on the WWE last night and it was for composer that was it but it was kind of funny especially when Lavar took off his shirt talking smack. But what I seen they need to change there name to little balls. Lavar look flabby and skin hanging down from his arms and his kids there really skinny and need to get in the weight room.

For sure. I wouldn't use that comment in a room of rednecks though. And again, do you think it's odd that WWE is maybe making a bigger deal than it was? Like to throw the Balls under a bus? Or just WWE covering their asses? And if someone had assumed LaMelo was telling the wrestler to beat his dad's ass (instead of assuming he was calling the white wrestler the "n" word) does that make someone any more or less racist?

By the way, is that wrestler the dude from all those MTV Real World/Road Rules Challene shows?

    1. Lamelo is white.

    2. White people invented that word. So black people using it, is cultural appropriation (I know how much you dislike cultural appropriation).

    3. If you want to have different rules for different skin colors, then let's go back to Jim Crow: You can't pick and choose how much equality you want. Either we're all equals, or we're not.
