There are several teams who are going to make a push to shed last minute salary before Friday. IIRC Ezeli and his partial guarantee is about the quickest easiest way for a team to drop $6mik.

It's pretty much the only reason Ezeli hasn't been waived yet.

Woj bomb: Phil Jackson out as Knicks GM/president

Apparently both parties will be announcing this on Wednesday.

I'd absolutely hate trading significant assets for Thad Young and in your scenario we seem to lose Collins or do you think we'll not play him ahead of Leonard?

Most overrated person in NBA history. He won titles with the greatest player in NBA history, Scottie Pippen, Kobe, Shaq, etc. Tyron fucking Lou won a title with the best player in the world, for crying out loud.

Phil is the only coach to have success with the triangle offense in the NBA, even then he had Tex Winter assisting him. I have never been able to figure out why they try to run it in NY with PJ as president and not the coach, it simply doesn't make sense.

It was never the triangle. It was the players

And Melo. Wonder if Neil makes a jump to NY-- plenty of valet parking in NYC. I'll send him over for a pick.

The New York Knicks and team president Phil Jackson will announce that they're parting ways early Wednesday morning, sources told ESPN.

Conversations about what was best for the team's future between Jackson and Knicks owner James Dolan accelerated this week when the franchise decided it would not buy out embattled forward Carmelo Anthony, sources said.

    Thought this was depressing:

Phil Jackson worked for the Knicks for 1,200 days. He was paid $60 million for it or $50,000 a day.

It's not like PJax has anything to prove...

The Knicks have a poor organizational attitude about winning and he is willing to pass up $24M since he can't effect change.

    That's my take.

Sad thing is, Knicks are prolly better off now than they were before Phil was hired.

    Davis and Crabbe are significant?

I just didn't throw Swanigan or Collins on the depth chart. It wouldn't surprise me if Leonard got minutes at backup center to start the season, Collins is so thin.

I'd prefer to keep Crabbe than have Young here.
