Why here? I don't need it banned here, I don't want to eat it. But the Chinese do, so why interfere?

I'd rather just ban people that would eat dogs from breathing. I know it's hypocritical to say dogs are different than cows but they really are.

Reminds me, did anyone see the pigs that were loose on the freeway after an accident the other day?

The news lady was like "don't worry folks, the pigs are ok"

THE ACCIDENT DELAYED THE PIGS DESTINY AS BACON, BITCH

I rather liked it where the people ate the dogs. Recon was a heck of a lot easier. Need to be watchful for the Peacocks though.

The Syrian government gasses it's citizens. It doesn't happen in the States. Why should I care what the Syrian government does, why interfere?

Clearly people joking about this don't have much knowledge on what actually goes on during these festivals.
    Otherwise they wouldn't be joking.

Let's see. President Trump has said No more of that to the Syrians. You want him to do the same for the dogs in China?

    Are you retarded?
Or are you just faking ignorance for your own entertainment?

You know what, don't answer either of those. As I've read enough of your posts to make the determination without needing an answer.
At least I won't be reading anymore of them.

It's all arbitrary but every society sets some standards or laws. What about monkey? Elephant? Dolphin? Human? They have all been eaten by some cultures at some point. Others societies try not to ever harm an insect or wear a leather belt.

Personally, I am torn because ethically I don't like the idea of eating pigs because they are so intelligent, but conversely, bacon and pork ribs are amazing. I have been offered dog before on my travels and politely said no.

One of the real amazing things coming down the pike are Lab-Grown meats. currently Memphis Meats and other companies have been getting great results with lab grown meats that will be ground up, like meatballs, but correctly growing steaks or chic wings is still a few years away. But the research is amazing for a few reasons. 1) It will eventually be much cheaper and easier to mass produce so feeding the world will become less daunting. 2) The production of lab meat uses only 2% of the energy that it would take to produce farmed meat, greatly reducing energy consumption, cattle emissions and grazing runoff and erosion. 3) Once they have dialed in the ability to perfectly produce a beautifully marbled New York Strip, we will have the option of selecting more healthy fats and omega 3's . We will be able to dial in the steak for texture, taste, health or any mix of those.

Gosh honki! I suppose I could apologize for offending you if it weren't a sign of weakness. Of course I am entertaining myself and hopefully, another, or two.

I do think Further, made a nice contribution. I had the same thought when I made the original post. Pigs are smart, perhaps smarter than a lot of dogs. We don't get worked over eating pigs, so why get worked over others eating dog?

But on the other hand, it is entertaining to trigger an emotional response from the righteous.

You're not Jewish or Muslim? Hindus don't eat beef either....dog meat is considered by ancient Chinese doctors to have medicinal benefits...in northern China or Korea they say it keeps you warm in the cold.....we don't eat rats here but they eat them all over the world...same with snakes...people who are looking into animal rights in asia started out with Rhino horns, Tiger penises and endangered species concerns, then freaked out when they encountered the dog meat market...it's like cock fighting in the Phillipines....goes way back in their culture. The biggest reason to segregate what meat is cool to eat and which is not is to realize you're not that fucking hungry after all......if food were scarce, most carnivores would eat a dog

I know, and this prompted the post. A neighbor lost a dog last month. It appears a cougar did the deed.

It's cultural misappropriation. We force western values on them

A serious answer to your tongue in cheek question is this. The festival that has people here up in arms is not some centuries long , cultural observance. This was started in 2011. This is not the same a Koreans and dog farms, where they are grown for meat. (Although the practice in Korea is looked down upon and has been made illegal in most of the country at this time)

This festival is barbaric. They round up dogs and torture them. They believe that the more the dog suffers, the more "benefit" they receive from eating them. The main thing that they believe they gain a cure for erectile dysfunction. Seems like a horribly cruel way to placebo oneself, versus getting a prescription to a little blue pill.

Dogs have been mans companion animal from the beginning of time. To treat them in this manor is heinous. I would rather kill those that do this than the animals. Suppose that makes my position pretty clear.
