A year ago, the Nets made Allan Crabbe an offer few thought he would get. At 4 years, $75 million, that seemed like a lot for a bench player. Blazer fans often get frustrated with Crabbe because he has become a brilliant shooter from '3' yet often isn't aggressive as they would like him to be. Come July 9, maybe Crabbe can find out if he is better as a starter. The Nets have indicated an interest in Otto Porter and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope but the Wizards have indicated they will match any offer for Porter. Then it comes down to KCP. Blazer fans should hope and pray that Detroit wants to keep him and the Nets have been reported to be open to reconsidering Crabbe again. This article is from a few weeks ago and looks at 4 different Blazers as trade options for the Nets. Come July 9, Portland may find out. https://nothinbutnets.com/2017/06/06/best-options-brooklyn-nets-blazers-trade/
Man... that team is so bereft of talent, I'm not even sure we would get anything useful out of them. It would be purely a salary dump.
That doesn't make us better though. Better idea would be to dump Meyers on Brooklyn. He's had his best games against them. No free agent is going to sign there anyway. They're in position to take on a younger reclamation project like Meyers.
Hopefully now we know what we have in Crabbe so we're not afraid of another Jermaine O' Neal situation.

I'd love to trade Crabbe for Lin, Lin is gonna be on the bench now because of Russell and Crabbe fits nicely next to Russell.
I don't think the Nets will want to trade any picks for a while. That's one of the main reasons why that team is a dumpster fire.
We get an actual scoring 6th man that can play next to Dame or CJ (yeah defense will be ugly but Crabbe isn't an answer for that either). And we cut 6 mil in salary and it's only 2 seasons of Lin. Could be only one season if he declines his PO.
The idea of the article: good. The actual article: bad. Neil would NEVER add a 1st rounder to dump a contract.
The thread is about Crabbe and getting rid of that albatross but I got you: Crabbe/Butters/Davis For Lin/RHJ/Booker
Yeah, can't see NO saying, "We know you wanted Crabbe last year. Well, you can have him plus a first rounder for your steaming heap of garbage. Gotta be honest, I fucked up, so we're giving you a draft pick as our apology."
Crabbe for Lin and Jefferson. That would clear about $6 million off our books. At that point I'd be looking to trade Harkless or Aminu with Ed Davis (who will be gone after this season when his contract runs out.)
Harkless, Crabbe and Leonard for Linn, Nicholson and Jarrett Allen? I don't want Lin but they would want us to take at least some salary back and he would at least be something off the bench. Nicholson is nothing but at least is a cheap contract. Harkless and Leonard are on cheap contracts for young players given the way some of these contracts have gone. Allen is 2 years away from being 2 years away. Nets get the better talent and it is all young. Blazers get some cap relief and one possible future asset with Allen.
