Holy fucking shit. Paul Millsap 30 million a year? I assume Denver will have the option to opt out? If not that is crazy to give a good but not great 32 year old that kind of money. Talk about over paying because they have problems with attracting free agents.

I'd take a kick in the nuts over Meyers any day.

No, we're going to trade Meyers for him + a 1st rounder!

Neil is smart. He's not gonna die on this hill. He wanted Meyers to get more opportunity but what we've seen from him is enough.

Okay so let me break it down for you:

When Nurkić came to our team last season he wasn't in game shape and still was able to do what he did. Mid season acquisitions rarely have that type of impact. Let alone while being out of shape.

He's never had a training camp.
    He's never had a preseason.
He barely knows our full offense.

And for some reason you don't seem to understand that the out of shape, not fully integrated Nurkić did this:
    • Before Nurkic: 45.4 FG%, 35.9 3P%, 106.8 offensive rating
    • Since Nurkic: 48.4 FG%, 42.1 3P%, 110.4 offensive rating
What's an in shape Nurk who understands the playbook fully gonna get us?

No I do understand. I just disagree that he is going to make such a huge difference that we are suddenly a sure fire playoff contender in the West now. He will be a great player when he is on the court for sure though.

There's no one who can guard Nurk. We literally have 3 unguardable players. All of which you can run the offense through.

I'm excited to see a healthy, rejuvenated Nurkic along with our newest additions in Zach and Swanigan. We may not win the championship, but I sure will enjoy watching our team play during the 2017-18 season in a highly competitive division.

Impressive numbers to be sure. But, remember, teams will also have more time to scout him and how the team used him and exploit Nurk's weaknesses (covering pick-n-rolls, etc).

Many on the forum are expecting a jump to a 50+ win team due to the Nurk Effect. Given how almost every team in the West improved this offseason, I'm fully expecting another 40-45 win season and, with it, the end of Olshey's tenure in Portland.

Did you just pull that one out of your ass? It's like you have no clue who we just traded for. It's like you haven't done any research or seen him play before he put on scarlet and black. Nurkic doesn't have nor has ever had problems defending the pick-and-roll. You just made that up after looking at his height and weight huh? One of his strengths is being extremely light on his feet.

    Bruh.... The play at 7:08:

Now you'll see in the weaknesses when they talk about some defensive plays it's mainly because he's reaching a lot. Other than reaching sometimes instead of moving his feet in the pick-and-roll he's an excellent pick-and-roll Defender.

Honestly, I didn't really see many flaws in Nurk's game. The only flaws I saw where with his some of his post moves and dribbling. He can really leave himself out there for somebody to pick off sometimes. No reason to think that won't get better after working with Vanderpool.

It is true that we cannot know for sure. But, I do agree that the Nurk effect was real. It improved the team synergistically beyond what his skill set alone brings. On offense it plugged several holes and increases the versatility dramatically. On defense, he is just a big body that seems to get in the way, and gets some decent rim protection on occasion.

In think the Nurk effect and some rebound seasons from Crabbe and one or two others will get us home court in the first round.
