Nurk is fearless....plays with a smirk and invites contact..really old school big guy...love his game.

Jokic hasn't shown me one thing on Defense.

Plums' QO is based upon a formula. He had a ~$2M contract. He'll get paid whatever some team offers him, which may well be much higher. The Nuggets can match any offer, or make an offer above the QO if they want.

    $500M over 4 years on top of the $140M/year. And it's still a half a $billion, which isn't chump change, even for a $billionaire.

They have a very different skill set. Jokic has a great mid range shot and a decent 3 point shot. Much more of a,stretch type player than Nurk, who is more of a true big 5. Nurk is a much better defender, but at this point, Jokic is a much better offensive player

It's not chump change, but the question is how much they'll be pulling in over that timeframe. I read that they had the highest cable deal or something. I'm sure they've jacked up ticket prices at Oracle and they're moving into fancy new digs in San Francisco in a couple of years.

It's going to be fiendishly expensive to keep this group together, but they probably will have the financial wherewithal to pull it off, without dipping much into their personal fortunes. And they have the chance to make the team an institution in the Bay Area, which could pay off even after the glory days are gone.

I cannot fathom where in the hell there's a piece of land in San Francisco that can accommodate a parking lot and basketball arena...unless they buy Golden Gate park or something...that city has seemed to me to have been maxed out from development for decades

Jokic is damn near a liability defensively. He's superior offensively but I don't think the gap is wide enough to make up for the other side of the ball. Nurkic is the better overall player.

I disagree that he's "much" better.

Jokic is a fine player....he's young and given he's had early success, he should just keep getting better....for Portland, Nurk is the anchor we've needed

Please someone show me him playing D because he looks soft in this area. Almost Kanter like from what I've seen.

I believe they've already done the groundbreaking, so I guess they found a suitable site.

I still think Jokic is overrated.

You can't count the salary portion. That's covered directly by league-wide revenue. It's the tax portion that is up for debate, as far as whether deep playoff runs in a region flush with cash will counter it.

Their player expenses are going up, sky high, before the LT.

$74.2M in "profit" before all that.

Elliot Williams???? Yeah, we wasted an entire 149 minutes trying to develop that guy. If that's the 3rd best example you can come up with, you have no case.

Can one of you nerds please tweak the algorithm. It's running open loop again.

Is he though? That's the kind of player you need to put next to Jokic and Millsap is not a hustle player like faried, swanigan, Davis, DJ, Chandler(younger), etc...
