    Hello darkness, my old friend
A lot of people think a prime Sabonis was among the several greatest centers ever. Saying that getting Nurkic is like getting a prime Sabonis is almost equivalent to saying we got a prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Just setting yourself up for steep, crushing disappointment.

    Unless that's your fetish...

Nurk isn't in his prime yet. He averaged 15 and 10 in his time with Portland. With a 21 PER.

This is as a 22 year old. Probably on par with what Sabonis would have done in the NBA as a 22 year old. But he never was, so hard to say.

What were Sabonis numbers as a 22 year old?

Also, I don't get crushing disappointment from basketball. I'm not a 12 year old.

Over his best 20 game sample? I don't know.

Well, I didn't think you were 12 years old. I generally try to avoid ascribing fetishes to 12 year olds. It's unseemly.

This puts me in a tough spot. Because I'm as big of a Sabas fan as there is . But, how much raw data do we really have to go off of with young Sabonis. A lot of it is second hand hearsay. We do know that he dominated a young David Robinson in the World Championships. A lot of what we have to go off of young Sabonis is mystery and intrigue.

I just watched Nurkic dominate Jokic. Jokic is a guy who many around the league have just claimed to be the next great Center.

I have seen enough of Nurkic to prognosticate that if he stays healthy, he will be a great center. He has instincts and hands. A smooth jump shot. Makes teammates better. The sky is the limit.

Also, save the condescending fetish bullshit for someone else.

Olympics. "Young" Robinson went on to dominate the NBA a couple months later.

Stats between the two that game:

David Robinson: 23 points and 12 rebounds

    Sabonis: 13 points 13 rebounds

Except for Chief. Aminu just isn't a PF and he is certainly not a stretch-4 so why play him there?

Nurkic isn't the next Kareem. Maybe he'll prove us wrong.

He is a player that fills a big hole in the lineup and looks like he's going to fill it much better than expected. He looks like he's a 2-way player, and a guy we can get some easy baskets inside from, keeping the defenses honest against our wings. Inside/outside game.

He's easily going to be at least our #3 scorer, filling that glaring hole, too.

He's the 3rd C in a row that NO got us on the cheap who has exceeded expectations. This guy isn't a career sub quality guy who's starting here for lack of someone else.

No going guy on our team has anything close to the potential CJ had.

You're starting to piss me off.

I say "I want Crowder because he's an upgrade and I think a lot of our role players as trash."

Then you say "What's not realistic is to think we're instantly going to win it all next season if we sign Crowder and if we don't we'll suck...I don't buy any of it"

Never said we'll suck without him, don't think we'll win it all next season. Just said he'll make us better. But you're sitting here putting words in my mouth.

And when I call you out on it you say I'm "panic attack" posting? Based on the shit you made up or because I want an upgrade and don't think some role players are good? GTFO.

You're starting to piss off Aminu and Vonleh........don't give yourself a free trash talk card and then not expect to get called out on it sometimes...I happen to like those guys on the roster...if you can't deal with that then that's just life dude. Ignore me if you need to....no problem.

Bones you've said Stotts sucks, Aminu sucks, Vonleh sucks.....as far as GTFO.....that whole buzzkill has had me logging out of game threads for the last two seasons....I'm excited for the upcoming season and disagree with your take on it.
