Correct me if I'm wrong...but whatever we signed someone for would be multiplied when it comes to the luxury tax. You see anyone out there you want to sign that would count for double right now?

I love all the beat writers on Twitter that come on to confirm Woj's tweets.

Hey, bitches.... They're confirmed once Woj tweets them.

That's like me confirming a MJ jumper after he's made it.

    First KCP and now...

Plus Tyreke Evans basically getting mini-MLE. Has to make Olshey's stomach churn not to have cap space to use. He gambled that guys would get way overpaid like last year and lost.

To be fair, I was fine with all the signings outside of matching Crabbe at the time (oh and Leonard. Didn't want him on the team period).

I like it when the player says something, and then someone says their sources confirmed it. Kyle Lowry posts on twitter he is staying, and then some writer quotes him and says my sources confirm this. WTF? I should hope so.

    Zach Lowe said it perfectly.

Neil gambled that there would be a demand for wings, so he matched Crabbe and signed Turner, but he got burned. The cap went down and nobody is biting.

The cap stalling out was the big thing. If it had made another huge leap, I'm guessing it would have been possible to dump one of those guys (maybe), but now their money just looks stupid.

2 yrs, 10 mil for Muscala from ATL.

That's the contract Meyers should have gotten-- not 4 yrs, 40.

    ugh

Neil would be a huge fan of a sub-reddit called r/salarycapbets (if there was such a place.)

We signed 3 players on the basis that 'under new cap their contracts are manageable'. No, they are not. They only got those offers because cap went $24M up in one bulk and many teams suddenly got $24M to spend and decided it's somehow a good idea to overpay players like Noah, Biyombo, Anderson, Crabbe etc. and ended up getting deals that are impossible to move and will be stuck with those players unless they trade them for equally bad deals.

I was under the impression that last off season we needed to 'use it or lose it' in regards to capspace. We weren't going to have capspace this off season anyway, or am I wrong?

Not much so you are mostly correct. We could have had somewhere around 8-12 Mil I think I heard.

Sorta. Around 10 mil or so this year without dumbass deals last Summer.

    No L
    No Crabbe
    No Turner.

Probably be a better team today

    It says they want
I have yet to see anyone explain how $10M in cap space this summer acquires one player as good as Crabbe or Turner. Joe Ingles got $13M.

It gets us closer to being under the LT which makes S&Ts possible.

Well obviously if you're under the cap you're under the LT threshold. You're also down three players with only $10M in cap space and the MLE to replace them.

We couldve trade Aminu and Napier to get to $20M while still having a full frontcourt rotation and only 2 backup wing positions to replace.
