I get bombarded when I respond the wsy I want. Shouldn't it go both ways?

I seen alot good thing he did out there and not so good. But not so good is correctable. The good things on defense is that he change shots at the rim you didn't see Utah have alot of lay-ins. You see him cutting players off when the guards got beat. The thing he need work on getting his hands up on shots all the time. Offensely he was trying to go to fast that why he seem awakard on those PNR he just have to slow down and gather himself and he will find and he already said he needs to be stronger so need to harp on that issue. Another thing I like he never satisfied on his performance.

He will look so much better when a real pt guard throws him a pass that's not at his ankles too

We will see how good biggie defense is today with the matchup against Tatum but you might see Layman on him though,

Biggie, Layman and Collins are great projects....Biggie and Layman look more NBA ready..Collins will have to earn it by beating up Meyers at practice

River, you've gone all s2 on us :)
It was his first game, and in front of this childhood "home" crowd - he was VERY nervous, but still got 4 blocks. This sort of thing has happened to me twice back when I played sports. Give him a chance!

I compliment Collins...I like the kid and think he's going to be a longtime Blazer....he just needs to bulk up big time..he's got everything else to succeed..so if he can take Meyers ....he's on his way! Collins had a better game than Connaughton even though it was his first game

I'm not sure that Collins "needs to bulk up" - he's NINETEEN years old. Are you or anyone else on these forums (who are 21 or older) build like they were when they were 19? No. Even Shaq was thin at age 19. Yes, he'll get the protein powder/creatine/whatever treatment to accelerate the process, but the process will come naturally.

He was a nervous Nelly in front of his home crowd, and he played like it. Hopefully, that'll change, but even if it doesn't this summer league, I expect fantastic things from him THIS season.

Collins will be effective playing with Lillard or McCollum. There wasn't great space for him to work the post and he didn't get the ball with deep position. He got collapsed on hard when he was down low, and he'll learn when to kick it out and when to finish. He'll get more open jumpers next to Dame and CJ than he will in SL.

Shared an Uber ride over to the arena with 2 other Blazer fans. Also saw a couple of people at the hotel wearing Blazer attire. Portland is well represented here today!!

Did Collins really play poorly? I guess my expectations were low.

    10 points, 7 boards, 4 blocks, and 2 steals.

He shot poorly, but so did Swanigan. :dunno:

I came away thinking that for as bad as he looked at times he looked just as good a few other times and I was impressed that for a "bad" game those are decent stats. If he did that off the bench in the regular season I would be super happy this year.
