Rockets fans are severely overrating what Melo and CP3 are bringing to the table. They seriously think this would put them on the same level as the Cavs.

    Sorry, no.

    I would take LeBron/Kyrie/Love over Paul/Harden/Melo.

It's like the poor man's Cavs, and the Cavs couldn't hang with the current Warriors even a little bit.

The fuck is this? Rocket fans man..
They forgetting LBJ plays for the Cavs?
In what world does Har_en, CP3, or Melo equal LBJ? I mean come on.. Combining any two of those three don't equal LBJ's value...

Cavs did set Finals records in game 4. I'd say they hung a little bit.

The biggest difference that these fuckers are forgetting is that LeBron did more by himself than any of these fools. Paul, for all his accolades, has never been able to do much in the playoffs. Melo got to the WCF... once. Harden got to the WCF.... once. LeBron is so much better than any of those three players, and it's not even close. But I'm sure Rockets fans think Harden is as good as LeBron. Statistically he might be, but in terms of leadership and ability, I don't think Harden is even close.

I'm growing tired of this Melodrama. Last I heard is Woj tweeting that Anthony will not waive his clause to come to Portland, and that he is set on leaving NYK for Houston. I say fuck him, fuck New York, fuck Houston and move on. If Anthony doesnt want to be here then Neil shouldnt continue trying to acquire him. We want players who want to be here. Not premadonnas. Leave Melo and NYK to their power struggle and let them be forced to take Andersons contract from Houston.

    My thoughts exactly.

I read some commentator's thoughts on Carmelo to Portland and he said that it wasn't likely because he wants to go to a contender and Portland isn't ready to contend. First, as long as the Warriors remain stacked the way they are, nobody else is a contender just based on roster strength. Second, while Paul and Hardaway are really good, nobody knows if that pairing is going to work together and, if it does, that Melo is the added ingredient that makes them a super strong team. Assuming that Anderson is gone in the trade, they don't have much besides Gordon and Ariza. Top to bottom, with the addition of Melo, I'll take Portland's roster over theirs.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Winning one game only because you got ungodly (and unsustainably) hot doesn't really suggest competitiveness, IMO. As soon as they couldn't shoot 50-something percent on a hundred threes, they lost.

There was not one quote from Melo in that story and there wasn't any new news in it either.

Why would Woj say it if it wasnt true? He is usually very dependable and in the know.

Woj has gone over to the ESPN corporate side of the NBA....I liked him better with Yahoo....I liked Tas Melas and Skeets better when they were a duo on Yahoo too....

So this is how this whole thing breaks down from here from how I am reading it.

Melo is done in New York, he will not be back, right now his focus is on wanting to be in Houston, who doesn't have the assets to trade for Melo. Ultimately NY is not obligated to trade him at all, so Melo will have to choose to stay in New York, which he likely won't, or he will have to settle for another option aside from Houston. Via Tweets the only 2 teams showing interest beyond Houston are Phoenix and Portland. I doubt Phoenix really puts much effort in as they wouldn't want to give up any of their young guys who look very promising.

So based on Twitter, subjective speculation and hunches. Melo will need to choose between Portland and New York.

NY has to make him believe that they're willing to sit on him if he doesn't open up his list.

Why are most of our threads "threads"? Because we keep them going, even when the conversation has nothing to do with the title.

    We're all ADD.
