Yep. Without a doubt. I hope those guys get PAID well for selling out. Good for them. However, this probably means I will no longer play 'nba scout' during the spring time.
ESPN getting younger and hipper. They also recently hired sneaker gawd, Nick DePaula who lives in Portland I think I've known Givony online for years through various message board (used to post as Apocalypse_Now) on Hoopsworld.
Yup. Insider has been supporting their main site for years and I'm sure this will just add to their pay wall.
Well, I'm sure they will ruin it the same way they ruined their once very active discussion forums. Somebody (or maybe everybody) should download their pre-draft measurements database before it gets locked up behind their pay wall. BNM
Now there is an opportunity for someone to fill the void left by draftexpress. I don't think nbadraft.net has the horsepower. They seemed to have really declined in recent years.
It's the goal of like 99% of entrepreneurs to build something that they can cash out on. Can't blame em
Espn is ran by idiots. They bought DX because it was getting more use than Fords Mocks. They think eliminating competition will bring them more business. I'm sure it will increase their viewers a bit, but you have to consider the reason people used DX instead of ford, they don't want to pay for insider when they don't have to. Now people will look for other sources, some will pay for insider, but most (like mysef) will refuse to pay for espns crappy watered down content.
I'm not sure the aim is "eliminating competition." It's probably more "improving their own content" by bringing in better draft analysts than Chad Ford.
On one hand they will have access to better resources to do what they do, but they are gonna slap us with that stupid insider bidness.
