If the Knicks give into taking Meyers Portland will give into taking Ryan Anderson and Melo ends up in Houston. That's probably what will happen in the end. Like it or not.

People don't put periods at the end of post titles. For all we know it could be a question or a statement.

Also, "Carmelo Anthony to Portland" doesn't necessarily mean he's been traded. The subject of the post is Carmelo Anthony coming to Portland. You just read the title and let your imagination run wild Johnny Boy, that's why it's important to read the article rather than just the title.

More likely that Houston will cave and trade Gordon and ariza instead. Nobody wants andersons contract. Only way I see us taking on Anderson is if we got to dump Turner in the process. Leonard's contract isn't bad enough.

At this point, I kind of want Carmelo Anthony to go to HOU. They have already gutted their roster to get Chris Paul. I want them to also mortgage what's left of their future to get Melo. Morey isn't dumb enough to go BRK with a butt load of unprotected future picks for an aging "superstar". Still, I'd like to see them send out multiple future 1st round picks to get Anthony.

Then, part of me wants them to be reasonably successful, top 2 or 3 seed in the West, maybe even make it to the WCF this season. I want them to have enough success that Morey locks up a TON of cap space in two guys in their mid-30s for as long as possible. Melo is already past his prime and will continue to decline. CP3 is still productive, when healthy, but he's injury prone and not getting any younger.

Obviously, HOU is in win now mode, but their "superstars" wouldn't be enough to beat GSW, and are about 4 - 5 years older than GSW's superstars. The more HOU mortgages their future and the more they spend in future contracts, the less likely they are to be relevant 3 - 5 years from now when POR is at its peak.

I kinda want them to be relevant when we peak so we can crush their hopes and dreams (again)

It seems like he's going to Cleveland at this point. I think Houston is out. They don't have much of a fugure anyway. That roster is horrible outside of Harden and Paul.

I think he will end up in CLE as well but not in a trade for Kyrie. I think they end up giving in to a Love trade that lands them Melo and then they do a separate deal with Kyrie.

I just don't see how they would be ok trading a 25 yr old Kyrie with 2 yrs left on his deal when one of the biggest pieces coming back is a 33 yr old Melo on an expiring, even if it included Bledsoe. Kyrie should have way more value then that.

They have to be smart enough to realize this trade isn't just a chance to help them in next years championship run but also give them a clear plan with options after LeBrons imminent departure after next year. They should be looking for either another cornerstone player to build around or promising young assets and picks. Melo wouldn't even be on my radar in a Kyrie deal if I was them.

Nobody wants to read a thread regarding old news that has already been hashed over in numerous other threads. Your thread has garnered barely any discussion about the topic in it's title. All it did was annoy a bunch of people who, like me, thought it was a dick tease.

Yes it does. If you say "Carmelo Anthony to Portland" that means he was traded to Portland. That's common knowledge.

At least summer league was interesting - for once. Too bad it didn't matter.

With Nurk it's sort of like we celebrated Christmas early....that was our offseason, and I think the draft was good as well...actually the best summer league games I've enjoyed in a long time but trade wise.....not a Blazer hotbed of anticipation
