I bought my first home in 2006. The market tanked due to Bush policies and did real harm to me and my family. Obama actually helped fix the market so I could sell my house finally last year.
There is a Star Wars comic called Into the Great Unknown in which Han Solo and Chewbacca crash into Earth after using Hyperspace blindly. Native Americans kill Han, and his body is discovered by Indiana Jones 126 years later while searching for Sasquatch—which turns out to be Chewbacca.
Sorry? Why would I expect you to say sorry for offering to help someone masturbate? That's very nice of you.
I agree to a point that this forum has gone downhill since the election. But even leading up to it, this place was pretty toxic with everyone at each other's throats about political issues. Even I admit guilt to that. I eventually just stopped posting in political threads in the OT because it's pretty exhausting arguing with someone who's opinion of Trump isn't going to change mine, and I'm not going to change theirs. I just roll my eyes and click the "back" button and go to something else. I would like to try and have a civil relationship with fellow Blazer fans on here, and if that means avoiding political threads, then it's a very small price for me to pay. Because for every person here than doesn't like Trump, I also have to accept that there are millions more outside of this forum that don't like him either. So, as a Trump supporter, I've learned to just roll with it. It's not always easy to avoid an argument if you feel strongly about the topic. But if you want to have a civil, even friendly relationship with others, then sometimes it is very necessary. Mind you, I would like to come to the OT more often. But damn, it's pretty toxic when political threads come up. Wow. Then you obviously haven't been paying attention Sly. I can name two or three people off the top of my head who have flat out insulted Trump supporters. And to keep this topic civil, I'm choosing not to name them. My policy is that if I'm going to either straight up insult someone, or use language that implies it, then I better damn well have my arguing points and arguments in order. Otherwise, it does nothing for the argument itself, and I win no points; bitter or otherwise. I had a real problem with this when I joined this forum. This was a policy that I had to learn and practice, and I'm still far from perfect on it. I've actually found more joy recently hanging out in the main forum than I have clicking on the OT. The Nurk threads there are my favorites. It's funny how you may disagree vehemently about politics with members here, but when you click on a Nurk thread, we all fawn and gush over him like children. LOL, I love that. It shows everyone that we're all just humans after all.
Trump derangement syndrome has affected both sides. It seems very odd sitting in the middle watching the carnage all over the internet.
This is your best post. Well said sir. I employ the same tactics for the most part. I'm here to have fun. The two of us don't agree on political issues, but, so fucking what. We both think Nurk is a majestic beast.
Politics has a lot of similarities to sports. Two teams competing against one another. The polls are the score. Like with sports, there is season long drama (will LMA stay or go?). It's a combat sport, and both sides fight dirty. MMA.
Word homie! You are definitely correct that both sides fight dirty. Jesus....politics is just.....evil. A necessary evil, but an evil nonetheless. I've often wondered if I would ever go into politics. But besides the fact that I have absolutely no financial backing whatsoever, is the fact that politics does ugly things to people. And I don't know if I could stomach that part.
This is a one of the classical difference between the Conservative and the Progressive. Probably the greatest and most effective barrier to discussion that exists. I think it is accurate to say, the Progressive generally agree with Woodrow Wilson; "Woodrow Wilson argued that the separation of powers established by the Constitution prevented truly democratic government." Therefore when any discussion that involves issues where the Constitutions is a factor, they tend to ignore the Constitution or profess the inability of the common man to understand it. Only a properly stacked court can interpret the arcane historical document. In Further's case, a mere PHd can't be expected to read it and a lowly conservative certainly is out of his league. There you have it! The top of the chain in the rule of law, will not be accepted as a basis for a begin point in any discussion. This generates distrust before any discussion even can begin as it demonstrates, we have no common begin point. https://online.hillsdale.edu/document.doc?id=318
This is my biggest complaint about govt...long drawn out elections that are built for TV and not a fair playing field ....no parity...I would like a 6 week long election campaign and a vote but they should probably spend a year vetting all candidates so when elected...they can perform. I also like it if candidates were required to have certain skillsets that are important to the job. Should be harder to run for president than it is to get a marriage license. Bipartisan govt is like a two judge boxing match...seriously the job needs to start attracting talent
Same shit happened when Obama got elected. We basically are here because a few people when completely ape shit on BBF.com reacting to various threads.
I am pleased with the election. We have a President the won way more than the majority of electoral votes. We all should be happy we have a documented process that works.
Clinton relaxed lending standards which caused the housing crisis. Bush started the TARP programs and bailouts that "fixed the market".
He's never groped me....TDS would require contact with him....a deranged Trump is not a pretty sight....mags however, shook his tiny hand once if I remember correctly
Sorry MarAzul, but I was trying to cleverly point out that you saying something is unconstitutional right after the Supreme Court ruled on it degrades your opinion
