On one level, yes, I have two trans friends. On another very real level, I have no friends. There is no way for the poll to represent me, since it wasn't multiple choice. How invalidating.
Several. Of course, possibly some I did not know were trans (the attractive red haired woman told me, or I would not have guessed, she was tall but so are lots of women).
I said no because it was a present tense question..and friends is quite a bit different from acquaintances....in Hawaii I knew many trans folks...in Taiwan there were many as well but in all cases they weren't what I'd define as "friends"....more like people who hung out in pubs I played music in more often than not. .
Very likely, yes. I'd say it's not the norm (right now... in the future it will be), but there are lots of trans folks who totally embody their identified gender.
Two of my trans friends had to tell me before I knew. One of them served in the air force as a woman, then in the army as a man a couple years later.
