Frankly, you are the perfect case in point. Nothing personal. Your emotional roller coaster that is displayed on this forum should be self evident. No need to even get into the other factors. I would not want to trust my life to you.

I have no clue what the first paragraph means.

For the hypothetical, I would assume so. That's why I said in an earlier post, that this isn't stopping trans people from joining, if they are able to lie about it without getting caught.

Most likely, the currently enlisted trans, will be allowed to stay in until their contract is up, then they will be honorably discharged.

Then they have the pleasure of dealing with the VA.

Oh yes! I forgot about that one. This is one of the reason I lost my insurance.

    That's not BS.

The military is used in humanitarian efforts because there's no one else the government can use to do it.

There is no humanitarian mission for the military. The mission is war.

During the 1920's they had to use Marines to guard post offices and mail trucks.

That's not a mission of the Marine Corps though.

The why of it is something your Doctor can answer for you. I make my judgement upon your actions alone.

Well, considering I didn't ban him at the end, I guess I find it funny that it reminds you of Sly.

If you want to be technical though, you could say that the mission of the military is to do whatever the president says.

You could also argue that war is a humanitarian effort.

It is foolish us to discuss these things Linc. They really have no clew what you are speaking about and don't give a shit about costs either.

BC, dude, I have nothing against you, and wish you nothing but the best. Here you go again. What is the relevance in how many trans people I know?

You asked a question that I believed to be in earnest. I gave you blunt but truthful answers. No harm, no foul. Not everyone is cut out to be in the military, which is my entire point.

When you go to the VA, do you give a shit about how much it costs the VA to give you your treatment?

You said you were passing judgment on my actions alone. I thought you meant your opinion of trans peoples' mental fitness was based on my actions alone. Which would mean you're stereotyping all trans people based on one mook; I should have realized I misread.

I get that I'm not cut out for the military. But that's not because I'm trans.

How can you guys not understand that excluding someone based entirely on the fact that they possess one characteristic, such as being trans, and not based on other merits is wrong and goes against what this country is supposed to be about....

It's an old and archaic way of looking at people that you deem as inferior for a job.

Black people don't make good soldiers!

Women aren't as good as men in the work force!

At one point these were widely agreed upon concepts in this country, and your opinion of trans people seems to fall right into line with that same way of thinking.

You can't give an actual reason why trans people would make poor members of the armed forces. Just weird veiled comments about "well adjusted" and "desired aptitude" that smack of misunderstanding and distaste. Just because there are some trans people that wouldn't make good soldiers doesn't mean that ALL trans people wouldn't make good soldiers, and it should not be a disqualifier based on that alone.

Nope not Sly. It was your rigidity I remember then, and the exchange today reminds of failure to communicate today.

Would you have me judge you on the actions of others?

Lets take this to a much broader spectrum. I do not want to be in the position of trusting my life to anyone that is not 100% in the game.

I've never been victim of the "model minority" stereotype before (not by you; I mean others in this thread). It's a very weird feeling.

ARE YOU JUDGING TRANS PEOPLE BY MY ACTIONS ALONE?

Oops sorry I got all emotional.

But my question stands. I know you're judging me. Are you using me to say all trans people should not serve? Because I'd really recommend you don't.
