What's dumb about it? Seems pretty logical to me, obviously deportation doesn't work... so again what more do you think they should do? Oh wait let me guess, build a wall?
No I don't think it will work at all. Much of the illegal border crossing happens miles below ground. Even if you build a wall 30 miles deep it will be drilled/blasted through. But maybe we could spend trillions installing sensors that let us know when it happens, sure we won't be able to stop those people from coming through, but we could know there is a compromise and spend millions to fix it so that it can happen again.
What do you think is the solution? I sure as hell don't think Multnomah County has their role in place.

This is only common sense. However, the argument for deportation is that we'll end up with the criminal element of the nations in our hemisphere in our jails at our expense.

Well this is right. I probably should have said, a bus ride to National City to begin with. But I don't think that is your point. And my point is, taking a few hours to get out of TJ for a 20 time deportee won't get it done. But we do have new instruction on the Border now you know. update Should have said, bus ride to San Ysidro. That's about what it meant to the last admin.
