Yeah. I enjoyed Tyrion's line about Jamie at the end. Loved the look Arya gave littlefinger. The end was sad though. I'm sure the dragon will make it through, but still bothered me some.
Who do we think "saved" Jaime? They want us to think it was Bronn. But, it could have been John Snow or who knows who else. I liked the look Sansa gave Arya myself.
Very good episode. Loved some of the call back lines. Bran to Little Finger "The game is like a ladder" After the duel, when asked "Who trained you?" Arya replies "No One" epic
...pretty sure he said "chaos is a ladder" in reference to this scene: ...and I loved the "No One" reply as well and was thinking I wonder if Lady Brienne knows what that means?
Had to avoid this thread since I couldnt watch the new episode until last night. Damn! That was a good one! I hope the dragon survives and I hope Daenerys and her crew take Jaime and Bronn as prisoners. I kinda think Jaime is going to eventually turn on his bitch of a sister. He seems to question her motives etc.
The dragon is fine. I think he took that spear in the shoulder. He might have some issues flying for a bit though. I have been sweating that scorpion for like... what.... two seasons now? Don't kill the dragons GRRM!
Dragons might die at some point, but not in its first real battle action. That had me very nervous. I was like, HBO, don't fuck this up. Great production on creating some tension about whether Drogon bites it. I'm sure he's fine unless it was a Dornish spear tipped in poison.
That was way cool. I am guessing Dany at this point is done listening to anybody. Maybe Jon Snow, but she is starting to think Tyrion and Varys are useless, which is usually, not a good play. They don't have a lot of loyalty. They are basically floaters.
They showed a snippet of next week's episode and in one clip someone was saying that she needs to listen more... so I guess we shall see. The interview of the (writers?) after the episode had one of them saying that the scorpion will make her rethink how she uses the dragons. They're not invulnerable. I think she's in a tough spot. If she marches her armies north with Jon, and the white walkers decimate a large portion of her forces, you can bet Cersei will just swoop in afterwards and wipe them out. She doesn't give a shit about the rest of the kingdom's safety or any sacrifice for the greater good. So Cersei needs to be dealt with. I actually wonder if maybe it won't come down to another major battle. Maybe Jaime Lannister will just take her out and the war will be over. He has shown that he's willing to end a war to prevent needless death. There's only a few episodes left and I have to think the final season will be about the war with the White Walkers.
Great episode. I thought it was a little unrealistically dumb of Daenerys to see Bronn's missed ballista shot fly past and then think, "Welp, time for another bombing run." You get the good fortune of a missed, and therefore warning, shot, it probably makes sense to draw back and reconsider or at least not dive straight back down. The battle was solidly over by then.
She sorely underestimated the recharge time of Bronn. He's not a member of the Night's Watch anymore.
