That puts it in perspective for me. I don't have many ties to Houston, but I passed that exact spot on I-10 almost exactly a year ago. That is ridiculous.
Pretty sure I've never seen an ocean (not entirely sure if that's fresh water or not, just trying to make a point), with white caps on a freeway
No one on my street has flood insurance. Really hoping the river doesn't flood my house. Rains have stopped, but this is far from over. Not in the clear yet.
I almost got blacklisted at work when they came around for donations for a coworker who was out with a medical thing for almost a year. My exact words were "get fucked" The guy with the envelope just walked away. The next few days my boss looked at me funny. I let it go for a little longer and finally told him why. A couple of years earlier the guy hit on my wife at a company Christmas party. Not beating him senseless that night was far more charitable than he deserved. My boss, being the same angry type of person as me smiled and said "fuck him then" Haha
This post made me do a complete 180. I was like, man... this poster is an asshole. I'm about to ignore a motherfucker. Oh, what's that? That guy did what to his wife? This poster is a kind man. God bless this lamb.
Meanwhile, 20+ people are dead, and hundreds of thousands are homeless. At least you got your agenda out. Congrats
So far. This shit isnt over. Now the rivers become the issue. I am by a major river that is supposed to crest Saturday. It could easily flood my entire neighborhood. All , or most of the flooding you see on the news is above me. At dome point that has to flow down through me and to the gulf.
I don't pray, but I'm sending good thoughts out for you and the millions of others effected by this. Edit *and I'll refrain from Trump talk out of respect for the seriousness of this matter.
I had a dog that hated swimming, I throw him into a lake or river and he would immediately try and drink the entire thing.
