Any suggestions? Sidenote: what are the best NBA players whose careers started as a camp invite. John Starks is the only one who springs to mind.
I remember NE Portland's very own and Kansas Jayhawk Aaron Miles was invited to camp a few years back after killing it in pickup games out at the practice facility. Heard he was on his way to making the team..... got hurt or something right before the first preseason game. That would have been a great story. But I was thinking Ime Udoka took the same path and played well for us.
I think Ben Wallace and Brad Miller? found this: https://www.si.com/nba/photos/2012/06/21nbas-best-undrafted-players not sure if that lists the "camp invites" though.
No love for my Ime post? Relatable, local and on topic. (and I don't believe this post will make people want to quit the forum) #Tri-fecta
I like Ime's partner (Nia Long - I don't think they've gotten married but I know they're together and have at least one child together).
He was and continues to be a good local story. I suspect we'll see him in bigger coaching roles in the future after all the time he spent under Pop.
Yup. A lot of people thought he wouldn't even get that and that his NBA career was hanging by a thread.
