His words matter when he's not making a joke. The man came from the entertainment business where he was a "star" (whatever you want to call him) due partly to his sense of humor. Reagan said, "when do we start bombing Russia (rough quote)" on a hot mic, but he was kidding. The proof is in the results - end of the cold war. When he starts lying about important matters for his own political benefit (and no, he hasn't yet), it'll be something to talk about. As far as NK and the rocket man thing, it's clear Trump is trying a different approach, since the previous ones were utterly unsuccessful. His top military guys (McMasters) are in line with what he's doing. Trump was able to get the Chinese and Russians to vote for sanctions against NK, which is a big deal. So whatever he's doing has some good effect.
"Tear down this wall Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Trying a different approach huh. Goading a maniacal dictator into war. I'd say thats a different approach. Though I doubt Kim Jong un will actually shoot a missile at us let alone hit us or Japan with one. That would be suicide. He's just trying to look like a bad ass to his slaves...erm people
The last president bargained away $billions of cash to Iran, including some of it delivered in cash on pallets via airplane without any assurances that cash wouldn't be funding terrorist groups. An initial $400M in cash was delivered to Iran in exchange for hostages (we paid ransom, which we never should do). Another two shipments of $1.3B immediately followed. Bill Clinton negotiated a deal with NK that NK pretty much ignored. So yeah, I'll go with the different approach. "We begin bombing in 5 minutes."
FWIW, I start my day reading through a bunch of news stories. I post those I find interesting here. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/sep/21/trumps-war-strategy-hailed-afghan-president/ Trump’s war strategy hailed by Afghan president: ‘A difference of day and night’ President Trump received glowing praise Thursday from Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani for the new war strategy, which was credited for turning around the 16-year war against Taliban militants and other radical Islamic terrorists. “It is a difference of day and night,” Mr. Ghani said at a meeting with Mr. Trump. “The cloud of uncertainty has been lifted, but equally important is your commitment to a political solution at the end of this process.” Mr. Trump announced the new strategy a month ago. It included setting long-term goals for the war effort, sending more U.S. troops to train and assist the Afghan military and revisions rules of engagement. Before Mr. Trump took office, President Obama had begun a drawdown of U.S. troops and then halted the pullout as conditions deteriorated. “You made this decision on the basis of courage and determination. We salute you,” Mr. Ghani said of the renewed commitment to the war.
Im actually not necessarily opposed to Trump trying a different approach, and the threats to bomb NK could be a decent strategy done by a serious President. Reagan for example. But I think Trump isn't taken seriously, his words don't matter. He has acted like a clown too many times, lies, "jokes", changes course, and never accomplishes anything. Quite ineffectual and hence not able to convey a true threat to NK.
I think people are taking his words seriously. Deadly seriously. Seriously. I think it's a mistake to parse everything he says so literally. Instead, look at the broader theme of what he says in context with what's going on. Example: the withering shit storm of negative PR and Russia, Russia, Russia is a witch hunt (it is).
Someone should do a study on how long it takes Denny to defend Trump while still claiming he's not a supporter of him.
The rhetoric is so anti trump, I think people are seriously brainwashed by the propaganda. I post anything that doesn't fit this narrative, and that makes me pro Trump? I'm pro letting him serve his term out and voting him out of office. The legitimate way to remove him. I've posted plenty of things negative toward Trump. Feel free to believe whatever you wish.
http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/tr...in-afghanistan-reversing-stance.319136/unread http://www.sportstwo.com/posts/4219170/ (and many others) I don't start many threads.
In what way are impeachment or the 25th amendment illegitimate ways to remove him? Pretty sure both are in the constitution. barfo
He won't be impeached. Whatever you're smoking must be onehellofadrug. You justify a blatant coup d'etat attempt. CNN has been downright forthright about their motives. Drive down Trump's support to the 30s or lower and maybe republicans will get on board with the plan to impeach. Washington Post called for impeachment the day of inauguration - without any real reason. The voters chose Trump. The will of the voter matters more than your panties being in a bunch.
Wow. A massive story. Even CNN is talking it up as good. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/21/trump-to-make-north-korea-announcement-mcmaster-says.html Trump signs order aiming to cut off funding for North Korean missile program Trump on Thursday highlighted that China's central bank has told its banks to strictly implement U.N. sanctions. He thanked President Xi Jinping for what he called a "bold" and "somewhat unexpected" move. On Tuesday, he also commended Beijing for signing on to two recent sanctions packages enacted by the Security Council. The U.S. sees China's commitment to sanctions as crucial to forcing Pyongyang to end its nuclear and missile programs. Trump appeared to try to quash speculation that he is targeting China or other North Korean trading partners with the action. "I want to be clear — the order targets only one country, and that country is North Korea," he said. Trump said the order identifies industries including textiles, fishing, information technology and manufacturing, which the Treasury Department can target with "strong sanctions." The president added that the order includes "measures designed to disrupt" shipping and trade networks to reduce Pyongyang's ability to avoid the sanctions. I'd call it unprecedented cooperation from China, regarding NK. I'd also call it convincing proof that world leaders are taking his words seriously.
We really see things differently. I would say is this President is probably the on his way to being the most effective of last four. Perhaps, we shall see, the most effective of any in memory of any here.
...the North Korea fiasco is all about the bank, one of the last countries in the world to not be owned by the Rothschild's et al banking cartel
