The super Melo to Portland thread + The Big Blockbuster

SERIOUSLY..... where was all this info yesterday?

 

I put the PG trade more so on kevin pritchard, that was just a bad move on his part. Not sure you can do much about this either because it's all up to Melo, he holds the cards because of the NTC. However this offseason really showed the fuck ups of Neils offseason last year. It was just so fucking bad, I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth, I am so tired of trying to believe Meyers will be better year after year and whatever. He did good right after LA left but last offseason was just so horrible

 

That's what freaks me out, especially since they have been so much more vocal this offseason about getting help. Fucking CJ said he would of even taken LA back when those rumors circulated. Luckily they have a few years left on extensions but man if this shit can't turn around in a few years, I think they are gone

 

I love how our team is now worse than it was 2 days ago...

 

isnt his job tho to convince people otherwise? He's supposed to be our recruiter, the guy who sells the culture and opportunities from playing here. So far we have not a whole lot to show from his efforts outside the draft/nurk trade.

I obviously don't think we are winning a title with the warriors there and the team we have, I hope swanigan is good and collins can be something but both these offseasons have been a fail. You can't tell me they aren't.

 

I am not saying that but the future doesn't look bright for this team given the roster outside of Dame,CJ,nurk, rookies.

What were you expecting out of this off-season? Collins and Swanigan could both be great and thks would be viewed as a great off-season. There's no basis to the argument that this off-season is a failure and youre only saying do because you're freaking out about this Melo thing. Relax.

 

Melo is/was our best chance of being really interesting this year. He makes us a significant contender, even more so than OKC or Houston IMO. It's not unreasonable to be unsatisfied with Vonleh, Aminu, Lenoard, Davis, PF rotation it's one of the worst PF position groups in the NBA.

Dame, CJ, Nurk, Collins, and Swanigan are a better core than the majority of NBAs.

Hell, even ESPN, who always hates on us, is saying that we have a top 10 roster for the future.

What does OKC have to offer for Carmelo?

 

Never thought I'd say this, but BGD is right.

 

That’s like 75% of our scoring and 75% of our defense. Hell, you could play those five 48 minutes in a single game and I bet they win 60% of the time.

We NEED a backup center not Yet Another Wing Who Shoots Okay. Not getting Melo is only slightly worse than getting Melo.

He's probably waiting until the very last second and then will go here as his last resort since we probably already have a deal done with NY.

 

What's he supposed to do put a gun to Melos head? Actually I might willing to go do that at this point. Give me season tickets or something.

 

I'm not sure if Melo makes us that much better. I want him more from an entertainment standpoint. I'm very unsatisfied with our role players but the emotional up and downs of this board over the Melo saga are getting old. Reserve judgement until something actually happens.

Even if he doesn't pick us, it'll be fine. We have Nurk. We're good.

Yeah. That's my guess. No reason to include Portland on his list. That deal is already on the table. Now he sees what else is out there and then decides early next week.
