I am curious, you don't see a connection in the players and owners response yesterday to your presidents' word at the campaign rally Friday or answers to the press on Saturday doubling down on what he believed the owners response should be? it seems a straight line correlation to me. cause and effect. I do understand the part about the country's divisions, I too am troubled deeply, but I feel that trump's statements are worthy of a nonviolent response. whether kneeling or staying off the field, it is preferable to another ferguson riot IMHO and far more affective in unifing a response. I am personally turned off by the violence and tune out of the causes even when the position is one I might find empathetic.
Well...yeah, I think it kind of does. The whole point is the idea that black people are all too often perceived and treated differently by police than white people...because of the color of their skin. So...yeah, it matters.
NFL players have only been on the field for the national anthem for about 10 years. It hasn't had a long history.
I don't care they did what they did yesterday, I am saying it wasn't genuine, meaning the place colin came from doing it wasn't the same as the players yesterday. It become a circle jerk of team statements and things players were saying. That's all I am saying. Not that I agree or disagree with it, I just question where it came from
yes, now lets talk about the clinton foundation. Not surprised people on here still take sides when EVERY fucking president has been corrupt. Politicians, etc. But hey this person is on our side so lets defend them till the end. Waiting for people to catch up and realize they all suck
The NFL is a brotherhood. They take care of their own. When the President of the United States calls a player a "son of a bitch" for protesting, it's an attack on the entire NFL. They may have not done it for the same reasons as Colin, but that doesn't make it any less valid.
It only takes a little research to show he's already made the donations. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...rricane-harvey-relief/?utm_term=.abffbf10413e President Trump gave $1 million of his own money to charities helping the Houston area recover from Hurricane Harvey, splitting the gift among 12 nonprofits, the White House announced Wednesday. The gift had been promised late last week. In a statement, the White House said that Trump and first lady Melania Trump had witnessed some of these charities at work firsthand during their two visits to areas of Texas hit by the hurricane, which was the biggest rainstorm recorded in the history of the continental United States. The White House said other recipients were “recommended, at the invitation of the President, by members of the White House Press Corps,” the White House statement said. The two biggest individual gifts were given to large, mainstream charities: the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army would get $300,000 each, the White House said.
okay then I am confused because you have people on here saying it's about racism so how about you all come to a conclusion and then come back with an answer. It's obviously against donald trump. I am not sitting here saying they shouldn't do it but people on here keep ignoring what I am saying and only trying to say why it's okay. I said yeah that's cool, I don't care why they are doing it, I just think it's another way of virtue signaling
I would counter it is a position on a cause that had been gaining momentum as more players had already been taking a knee during the anthem this season and teammates had voiced their support of their position. not trying to trigger any response from you, but the evidence appears to support that the president triggered a response that had been simmering just below the surface. I don't follow social media, so I could easily be wrong in my perception.
Why do you not understand to a lot out there, they think it's disrespectful? this is no different when I tried to say "hey guys I say the word gay in my private life" and everybody jumped me saying "no, it's not right no matter what". Because some people think that's disrespectful as well. You can't be ignorant to this stuff
Well I encourage you to check out social media and you will see the virtue signaling I am talking about. There were people who had pictures taken of them kneeling in front of their tv during the game and anthem. It's gotten out of hand. Like I said, whether they kneel for trump or racism, I don't care, go for it. I am just reminding people on here that not everybody thinks the same, there are a lot who still think it's disrecpectful
no just pointing out to you Pittsburgh's violent streak in sports fandom, especially steeler fans. wasn't it fans violence during a game, throwing shit onto the field that started the alcohol ban there?
