I didn't say why they were doing it. People probably did it for different reasons. Some because of Trump, some because of racial inequality, some because of both. It's not virtue signalling when you support your family, friends, etc. when they are attacked. But if it makes you feel better about it to give it a label, okay...

If you're being triggered by someone kneeling that makes you the snowflake.

Oh, so you really aren't upset at the players, you are upset about people on social media. Well I can't help you there. Maybe, don't go on social media if it upsets you?

I agree, not everyone feels the same on this issue, but, non violent political activism has a long history of uniting americans, not all but a majority, to aeffect social injustices and what you see on social media might just be a sea change in people willing to show solidarity and take a stand.

Oh man! The cause of that riot should be fully understood and the causes corrected. There should not ever be another American city torched, small or large for any civil reason.

No, I think the players and teams are annoying as well. Like I said it was not done from a genuine place. It simply was about spiting the president which okay cool whatever but it honestly just divided people further because the people that believe in standing for the anthem are now super pissed. So it kinda backfired in a way

Because they fight and die for the flag and what it represents. Back when i was a liberal snowflake i remember refusing to salute the flag. Now im ashamed i ever did that. Especially when my entire family has been to war for this country.

funny to me the people in here refuse to believe people should take that much pride in a flag or song when all through out history those things were some of the most powerful things that made a country or movement, war, etc. Brazilians go fucking ape shit over their flag and country. How dare there be Americans out there who take it seriously.

I actually think it backfired on Trump. I get there are different views on it. If I was a player, I would have been pretty upset that Trump decided to target NFL players who are being peaceful. I'm not sure what I would do if I was a player. I always stand for the flag, remove my hat and do all the respectful things Trump wants me to do. That's what's great about America. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs, opinions, and right to express themselves. If anything, it brought more attention to the issue and galvanized the players together on this issue for the most part. If I was a player, I might have taken a knee really to protest Trump's comments and to show support to my fellow players. And also to show Trump that America is about freedom of expression. A flag means nothing if you don't have the rights that stand behind the symbol that the flag means.

I am quite willing to take your word as gospel. it seems that the negative publicity about concussions has already doomed the sport from where it once was. my daughter's already decided that the risks far outweigh the benefits in allowing my grandson to participate. she feels that other fall sports will provide the same team building benefits. our conversations indicate that many parents are taking a similar approach to their childrens development.

CTE is real real serious, I know my future kids will not be participating. I played football for a couple years, nothing crazy but rocked my bell a few times and apparently just those are mini concussions. What the NFL does terribly is not address it. These guys are getting so many concussions and then towards the end of their careers or later in their lives they start acting crazy and shit, that's CTE for you.

    Easy.
If it one of the new guys, I will hope they are cut, traded or just disappear.

If it is a Blazer regular, same response and turn the friggin game off if I ever get one on TV.

this was just a couple months ago, a new study and it's crazy

A neuropathologist has examined the brains of 111 N.F.L. players — and 110 were found to have C.T.E., the degenerative disease linked to repeated blows to the head.
