True, but the safety of children (and adults as well) vis-a-vis their interaction with police is more precarious and uncertain, depending on skin color. Which is the point of the protests.

Shouldn't conflate Curry's refusal to attend the WH with the NFL anthem protests. They're separate from one another. If you're confused about the purpose of the protests, you should go back to Kaepernick's comments about it when he started it last year. That should clarify things for you.

Looks to me like the bulk of the protests are against Trump or in defense of "one's own" (another player), not for anything in particular.

Complaining about the protest is just what white people have historically done when we protest. Most don't look into why we're protesting, or even worse don't give a shit and tell us: This isn't the way to protest. There is no right way for black people to protest. When we march peacefully we're beaten in the street. It's just more of this:
BTW, I read the Kaepernick explicitly used the words flag and country, when he said he didn't want to stand for those things (for historical reasons, etc.). I think the players are right and so is Kaepernick. But I also think they're certain to piss off tens of millions of people in the process, which may well harm the league. A lot of people will take offense to any kind of attack on flag and country.
