LMA offense is so overrated by the one year he utilized more moves than one dribble turn over the shoulder fade away and bump bump spin shot. He has a million moves and uses the same 2, which are his least effective. Purely relies on his high release point and fading away. Or when he would get pissed at Tyson chandler he would do some other more aggressive tactics.

That said, Collins inherently is different because he isn't a huge pu$$y in the post, as of now.

Did LA really create his own shot? I mean, a real shot?

He had the ability to and showed it for about 2 years here. But, he has no heart. No grit.

Considering his shot was unblockable, yeah.

No but he's a Center, he swats shot and he's not really a power forward, he's more of a Center on offense also, but he needs if not to add strength, to add physicality but he's also very young. The player I compare him to as far as his defensive intelligence is Kelly Olynyk which obviously has a lot to do with coming from the same program but they're not exactly the same

I think the Blazers drafted 2 centers in the first round, personally. With the way tge league is going, that's very Blazeresque.

I'm sticking with my Swanigan is Brian Grant and Collins is Rasheed Wallace. Here is Wallace's rookie card:
The 102 kg converts to 225 lbs., at 6' 10", which is very similar to Collins: 7', 235 lbs.
Rasheed could block shots like Collins can block shots.
Rasheed could move his feet well for a big man, so can Collins.
Rasheed could shoot, so can Collins.
Rasheed was a competitive MFer, so is Collins.
Rasheed could really jump, so can, er wait a minute, OK they're not identical, but Collins is actually a much better shooter than Rasheed.

Rasheed COULD play center, but he was really a PF, ditto for Collins.

I think a lot of folks here remember the "Blazers Rasheed", but of course he was thinner his rookie year, like Collins. Rasheed ended up at around 240, Collins will probably end up at 250.

I like the Sheed comparison. I could see Sheed playing a year in college as a backup like Collins did. Neither guy is somebody you want as your go-to option, but they both are "little things" kind of big men, doing things beyond the stat sheet. I'd be absolutely thrilled to have Sheed 2.0, with maybe a little better rebounding and a little worse defense.

As a 5th option he can't be any worse than Vonleh, and I suspect he'd be quite a bit better within a few weeks.

Oh you mean the PG prospects who always looked for theirs instead of feeding the bigs. Yeah, what could go wrong. Save your bullshit for someone else.

Hopefully not. I hear Collins is suppose to be a great defender, so if he's LA 2.0 that means his defense didn't translate. Also, I don't really want a mediocre jump-shooting PF - been there, done that, and it sucked.

Hell yeah - Sheed 2.0 is infinitely more appealing than LA 2.0!

I'm right there with you on the Biggie/Brian Grant comparison. I haven't seen enough of Collins to compare him with Rasheed, but if he ends up being that level of talent but without the attitude, NO deserves GM of the century.

I was as big a Rasheed fan as there is. After years of watching Tim Duncan I'm convinced he emulated certain aspects of Rasheed's game and perfected it. That face up bank shot from the elbow, the quick turn to the left shoulder bank shot, etc...

Rasheed was just his own worst enemy with the officials. But I loved him as a player.

I've also heard off the court Rasheed could be a super stand up guy often, but other times could be a prick.

One of my favorite all time Blazers.

I will saw one thing about Collins. He has a bit of dog in him. That natural scrappy cockiness of "Nobody knows me. Too bad. I can still play in this league." He likes to battle.

Now I don't think we need to go into how important it is to have that. It apparently took Meyers around five years to learn aggressiveness.

Exactly, that's what I meant when I perhaps too bluntly said "competitve MFer".

Yeah, the contrast between Collins and Meyers in that regard couldn't be more stark. One wants so badly to prove to both himself and everyone else that he can play. The other one seemingly couldn't give a crap what you think about his ability.

Collins is the guy I'd rather have on my team, but Leonard is definitely the one I would rather live nextdoor to. I bet he'd be a fantastic neighbor.
