Swanigan did not play crunch time tonight, which I think confirms that he's in the rotation, and being considered for the starting PF.
I love biggie. But I think he and Collins should BOTH come off the bench. I'll go against the grain and say Davis should start.
I don't think he'll start initially but I do see him as the PF on the second unit with Davis at C. They compliment each other well and will cause havoc on the glass.
I think we should re-sign Davis. He'll be cheap. Butters, Butters, Butters, Butters, Butters, Layman, Pat, Aminu, Vonleh. Off the team. In that order.
Will be any interesting year for him Biggie and Collins. Man, we need to free up a couple of spaces on the roster though.
Collins right now the front runner backing up Nurk. I think Biggie could start for the Blazers. I know Vonleh properly sitting saying oh shit why did I get hurt.
We got 2 steals in this draft. We got 2 players whose progress will keep us on our toes all season long. While the media will be focusing on Lonzo, OKC, Houston, T-Wolves, ... the Blazers will sneak ahead of these 4 teams, because we have the more complete roster. When we add Nurk, we basically have a completely new front court this season. I wish we could trade a combination of Chief, Mo, ML, ET for a solid SF.
I won't mock out your post. You are excited to see Swanigan/Nurk and its' all positive. We can all solicit negative opinions when our team becomes ordinary, stale and loses a lot.
One of the most exciting things to me last night was that Biggie was taking on Ibaka, and very much seemed like the better player. Though, yes, I understand that it's preseason, and Ibaka doesn't take it as seriously as Biggie. Still, great to see as a Blazers fan.
I like Harkless and ET. They are our SF's and will do just fine. Nurk, Biggie, Big Ed, Collins, and Vonleh should rotate through our 4 and 5 spots.
I'm still not an Evan Turner fan. I don't buy the mumbo jumbo about him "taking the pressure off Lillard and CJ". When Dame and CJ are in the game, they'll be dominating the ball. His skill as a ball handler is useful off the bench, since this team doesn't have many ball handlers. Napier is the only other guy off the bench that's a ball handler. Harkless is much better in the SL. He's great at diving to the hoop and scoring, and he's a better shooter than Turner.
