I think Crabbe is pretty overrated by this scout. Portland still has 2 of maybe the 10 best shooters in the league. Portland will use Turner at PG off the bench, freeing CJ and Dame to take all the shots they want when the other sits down. CJ in particular still has a lot of scoring upside--he averaged 23ppg last year on 48% shooting. If he ups his shot attempts from 18.0 to 20 or so that makes up for some of Crabbe's production.
Well said. I haven't checked stats verify, but our points in the paint will be going up this year bigly. With Nurk, Biggie, Collins, drives from Dame and CJ, a healthy Davis, and Harkless going hard at the rim, I'm not worried about making up for Crabbe's 10 point a game. I bet we shoot way more free throws as a team this year. Bad boys.
So do I call girls in biy scouts girl scouts? Won't that be confusing? Can they use the same bathroom hole they dig at camp in NC? Can boys join Girl scouts?
the losing Crabbe is just subtraction comment is right there with all the other stupidity from this "scout". Dude was massively overpaid for his skillset & massively overpaying for one guy means a team has doesn't have money to spend wisely on others. Here's guessing he doesn't earn a bigger role on the Nets (one of the worst teams in the league) then he did here because even they have better options. STOMP
The Blazers were -2.65 in RPM with Crabbe on the floor. Subtracting a minus is a plus. Math. http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/page/2/sort/RPM/position/2
Not necessarily. Portland has to replace his playing time with someone. If they replace him with a worse player, it's a net negative. I do think that Portland will be better off in the long run and will not find it too hard to replace Crabbe.
Project Pat was -2.07 in RPM compared to Crabbe's -2.58. Even if PP does not improve - it is still a gain in RPM if he gets all of Crabbe's minutes.
Well, small sample size... But, between Swanigan getting efficient "garbage" points (always hated that term, I prefer "hustle" points), Pat and Morrow, we should have no trouble replacing Crabbe's scoring and floor spacing with players who are at least as efficient and/or bring additional things to the table.
