Agreed, but Pat is guaranteed this year, right? So they cannot keep both and there is now way to reduce the roster otherwise?

I watched the fourth quarter again and Briscoe got SEVEN shots for his teammates, all missed. Five of them were completely open, clean looks that a legit rotational player should hit most of the time. The other two were makeable shots, although contested. And he did that without having the offense run through him. That stuff won't show up in the box score but you can bet the coaches chart it.

Briscoe earned that spot. I can understand if he doesn't make it, he's an extra point guard, but then Morrow shouldn't either.

Probably Morrow given his one skill set but honestly, I wouldn't mind being surprised.

The Blazers have waived Anthony Morrow, Isaiah Briscoe and Archie Goodwin

That's fair. Sign Briscoe to a two way deal.

So, nobody won the spot apparently. Fun game.

We also have Wilcox, who'll pretty much be our 15th guy. Could also look on the waiver wire, shouldn't be hard to find someone better than Morrow.

A twist that M. Night Shyamalan would be proud of.

In terms of M. Night, this roster move is equivalent to The Last Airbender.

Not surprised they went that way. Olshey seems to like roster flexibility.

“We wanted to have an open roster spot being a luxury tax team. This is probably more a question for Neil more than for me, but it’s an added expense. We have to have 14 so I think the open roster spot was important.”
    -Stotts

Worst offseason ever. But hey I bet Paul is happy.

Should have kept Briscoe. He has a future in this league. Morrow's shooting could have helped, but his defense was atrocious.
This is a pretty sure sign that they have full faith that Project Pat will fill in with shooting off the bench.

This is who Neil should be targeting. Everything about that article screams Olshey.

Just Hours ago, all three released, carry 14, luxury issue, no guaranteed contracts was the management focus. Shame....They played great tonight!

More I think about it, less I believe it had to do with luxury tax, even though Stotts mentioned it. I just don't think Neil thought any of them were good enough. We're still a tax paying team regardless. I wouldn't be surprised if the open roster spot is just for flexibility purposes.

Let's convince Richard Jefferson to sign with us after Atlanta waives him. Vet with championship experience would really help us
