Here's the game 1 lineup I'd roll with: Lillard (36) / Napier (12) Turner (32) / Connaughton (16) Harkless (33) / Aminu (15) Swanigan (16) / Davis (16) / Aminu (16) Nurkic (34) / Collins (14) Swanigan starts because the Blazers have 3 good defenders in the lineup with Turner, Harkless, and Nurkic, so they can cover his potential defensive shortcomings. Swanigan also starts because, with Turner at SG, the Blazers need a 3rd shooter on the floor at the PF spot, and Swanigan is the best fit. Always have one of Lillard / Turner in the game, and when Turners in, have Swanigan, Collins, Aminu in at PF/C for that 3rd shooter.
I saw people complaining on twitter about this, saying that the warriors were favored by the league because Cj got suspended, but Klay also "left the bench" and got nothing lmao I hope you realize this is a very different type of "leaving the bench"
wow.... CJ YOU ANIMAL! The NBA is insane. Dennis Rodman would get 1 suspension per minute in today's NBA.
Ehhhhh not really. It’s not like Cj got in an altercation. I understand those are the rules but he literally walked out on the court and turned around. But we have guys like you who just wanna say “rules are the rules”! Okay
“Rules are the rules” but guarantee if this was lebron James who did this, there would be no issue. So in reality the rules mean nothing if I can apply this to another player who would be able to play his opening night against Boston on TNT if he had done the exact same thing
Unfotunately, CJ is selected to be the Example, by the league, to be the reminder to other players for the coming season. It sucks, but CJ should have known better. . .
Rules are rules though. He left the bench, went on to the court, and was grabbed by a coach during an altetcation. It's pretty fucking clear cut
He wasn't "selected" to be anything. It was a violation of the rules. The league did exactly what it should have done.
You watch the video at all because I don’t see any altercation cj got into. I see him walking towards the scene, a coach grabbing him and him simply turning around and walking back. Rules are rules crowd out in full force
Doesnt matter. There was an altercation. When that happens, players can't leave the bench. McCollum's actions are in direct violation of the NBA rule that states: "During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their bench. Violators will be suspended, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $35,000."
Lol okay so tell me if lebron does that does the same thing happen to him? We all know the answer to this one. The league wouldn’t do shit about it therefor the whole rules are rules argument goes straight out the window because it should apply to everybody but we know some players that are getting away with that no problem
Its a fucking rule. He knows it, and violated it. Get over it. Read his apology, he knows he fucked up
EVERY camera angle of EVERY altercation is gone over by the league and they look for this EXACT thing. If somebody leaves the bench, they will get popped. I can understand you not liking the best players in the game, but ease up on the league conspiracy theories.....just not true.
It's just lame to sit back and say IF so-n-so does this they wouldn't get in trouble. That's weak. He broke the rules. Shit, you can ask CJ right this very minute and he could have told you this was going to happen. He knows he broke the rules and will accept the punishment. I mentioned it in the game thread...... plain and simple.
