Hurd has really improved over last season. Much more analysis and much less saying stupid stuff trying to be funny. I thought he did a good job tonight. Until the post game haha ;)

You quote from Blazer Public Relations, which sounds like it's straight out of Southern California. Are you with them? You're right that he's knowledgeable.

Hurd is better this year because the P.R. advisors had him drop the faux rivalry act with Calabro about being un-"hip."

Our commentators were once again amazing last night. Really enjoy listening to them.

Hurd is doing fine as a colored commentator. Calabro is a bit dry. They really should have had Calabro sub in for Wheeler on the radio while Brian's balls heal.

I listened to the game on mute last night because these two give my ears aids whenever they can't figure out what was called.
If I can figure out what the refs called from TV, why can't they from courtside? Don't even think they're watching the game.

I wished they stop kissing the other teams ass so much. They are supposed to be Blazer commentators.

Hurd has been good from what I have watched this year, much improved from last year. As someone else mentioned he would have been a good fit next to Barrett. Still glad Mike Rice is not with the team anymore though.

Blasphemy. Mike Rice was and is the man. Barrett was the boring one.

Last year I was ok with Calabro and hated Hurd. This year it's almost the opposite. Hurd has definitely improved. Calabro is whatever. Barrett wasn't a homer either, he was actually quite a downer, way more than Calabro, but it got lost in Rice's enthusiasm/homerism.

From what I understand, that was the main reason for the change. Management didn't want homers. They wanted more neutral guys to help make the Blazers seem like less of a homer team.

I can understand what they were trying to do, but I don't care for the new team. It's like watching a national broadcast with some generic announcer. I honestly find myself tuning them out.

So that's why they hired their old rival's announcer that very few of the fans seem to like.

Neutral broadcast crew....Utah Jazz....best in the league..call the game both ways.....Homer broadcast crew....Rockets...whining endlessly and horrible to listen to....call a one way game...Portland has a great team now....it's just their sophomore season together....Mike and Mike were a veteran team....I think if you listened to their sophomore season broadcasting, they wouldn't seem as natural either...Calabro to me is a pro...he's worked all over the country since the Sonics gig....I don't hold that against him personally...watch the Mike Barret clip the day Nate got fired sometime....it shook him up....Mike made friends with the staff guys and players...Joel P was his best friend...he was a homer..nice guy though..
